Episode 18: Political Aftermath

Warwick runs his fingers through his hair and squeezes as he tries to figure out what to do next.

Trefor comes over, "Is he okay?"

"He's physically fine. Unfortunately, I can't say much about his mind," Dilys informs, as Warwick averts his gaze from the two.

"How long will the potion last?" Warwick asks.

"It has different parts. It will keep him asleep for about a half-hour. After that, you can wake him up to do whatever it is you need him to do," Dilys informs judgingly.

"I think I'm going to spend the day making sure he's okay."

"Didn't you promise to help Endelyon today?" Trefor asks.

"I'm starting to understand things don't always turn out as planned. I think she'll understand. He needs me more,"

"Or do you need him more?" Piaras asks, walking into the town square, "You can't do much on your own, and he is a tool that gives you the power you seek. Am I close?"

"You shut the hell up!" Warwick yells, standing to his feet, "You wanted him gone from the start!"

"That's because I thought he was the evil one. I have since grown wise."

Warwick's clenches his fists as anger rises in him.

"Your weapon is asleep, and no one is really ready to give you a hand right now. What are you going to do?"

Warwick's anger continues to spike, until he stops, then calms down with a smirk.

"I'm going to let him rest. I'm going to check on Nora after you hurt her by telling her accepting Demoko is the same kind of behavior that got her dad killed. Then I'm going to buy some paper, and return to my room and await Demoko waking up."

Many in the town gasps, as Piaras starts getting angry.

"Don't try to make me the bad guy when you just sentenced your pet to torture!" Piaras yells as the town turns towards Warwick.

"Oh, please. This is all because of people like you! Racist, holyer-than-thou, people that would never accept him unless something drastic happened! Monthly mass murders aren't enough to stop it in my world, so if I found a way to solve the problem without a single death, I should be called a saint! Yet, still. There are people like you who probably still would rather him be dead than asleep!" Warwick yells back, some of the townsfolk now looking at Piaras, but most either averting their gaze or leaving the scene.

"You're right. Fomors should be dealt with. I think it's better we deal with the bigger monster first."

Trefor grabs Piaras by the collar, as Piaras tries to pull Trefor's hands away.

"What are you doing! You hate fomors more than I do!" Piaras yells.

"That was before I met one willing to get hurt to be accepted. I don't know about other fomors out there, but this one is different." Trefor explains, lifting Piaras higher.

"Return!" Warwick yells as Demoko disappears.

Warwick proceeds towards the graveyard, "Don't worry, he's okay. Trefor, I'm going to let you handle this."

"Do not return to the inn!" Piaras yells towards Warwick.

"Your weapon is inaccessible, and no one in the town is really ready to help you right now. What are you going to do?" Trefor mockingly responds to Piaras.

They continue to fight, as Warwick sees the general shop keeper talking with Nora.

She's laughing and seems cheered up.

Warwick sighs, and sneaks around the other way to the inn.

Once in his room, Warwick yells "Summon Demoko!" and Demoko appears on the floor.

Warwick sighs, "Another thing out of plan..."

Warwick attempts to lift Demoko into the bed, but after being unable to, he moves the pillows to prop him up and covers him in the blanket.

Warwick Rests, "I seriously need a better plan. I'm running out of leniency in this town. If he's okay, he can probably be player two. I'll just end my deal, and pay him off. Ten coins of pure gold should do the trick. Man, why does life have to suck so bad!!!" Warwick mumbles to himself, ending in a yell and laying back.

Warwick sighs again, "At least Demoko still has my back. I wonder if this is part of the djinn's plan? Turn everyone against me, and... I don't even know her goal..."

"Mana Guns!" Warwick yells, jolting up, "They don't require mana to use, don't need training or special quests, I just need to pick up a gun and some ammo and go! The mana gained from learning the skills will lead me into accessing it myself! Things might actually go my way."

Warwick lays back peacefully on the ground.

He looks over at Demoko, "This is all assuming he's okay..."
