Episode 16: Recipe for Pain

As Warwick is running past the sheep towards Deian, a gray wolf starts chasing after him.

After a few of Warwick's steps, He feels the teeth of the wolf sink into him. (16)

Warwick cries in pain and tries to punch back as the light starts fading from his eyes, but the wolf wasn't having any of it and slashes his claw into him.

Everything fades to black as Warwick's body falls to the ground.

From the faded vision of death, Warwick hears a voice call out to him.

"Would you like to Return To Town, Revive Where You Are, Use A Soulstone, or Wait For A Rescue?"

"This again. I'm still lying there. The wolf is likely still near. I should probably wait... What's that sound."

A faint and emotionless voice can be heard saying, "Warwick!? I'll feather you!"

"Huh... I guess it's someone... Then I'll wait for a rescue then..."

Warwick waits in the abyss of death for about five minutes.

Life returns to Warwick, as he gets up off the ground, gravely injured.

Two minutes later.

"You need help?" The GM asks.

"Thank you! Uhh... If you can keep the wolves clear here for a your minute, that would be great."

A couple minutes pass by.

"Will do."

Warwick stumbles over to Deian.

"Dude, are you okay?" Asks a farm boy with blond hair escaping from underneath his raccoon fur hat.

He waves around a stick in an attempt to scare off wolves.

"Not really, this really hurts... I have your medicine for you."

Warwick hands Deian a paper bag of medicine.

"Thank you. You should head back to Dilys. You could use a lot more than just some quick cash,"

Warwick nods, then stumbles back past the sheep.

Warwick sees the GM one-shotting the wolves with fusion bolt Icebolt and Fire Bolt, instant casting every five shots, then diverts his gaze in jealousy.

As he walks, he sees Demoko passed out on the hill.

"I need to get strong. I think I need melee until I can find a way to get magic," Warwick mumbles to himself.

"Are you okay?" Duncan asks, in Warwick's passing.

"Yeah, I'm heading to the Healer's House now. I'll get some help then."

"Make sure to take care of yourself. Everything is set up whenever you are ready."

"Thanks," Warwick responds, stepping out of hearing range.

Warwick makes it safely to the Healer's House.

"Goodness, Warwick. I don't understand how everyone gets injured so much around here... Let me treat you first, then we can worry about the job," Dilys states with a worried look.

"Thanks. I did complete the job though I forgot to get the money."

"Don't worry about that, he paid in advance. Now lay down here so I can treat you!"

Warwick obeys and lays on the bed behind the desk.

Dilys bandages him up and gives him a potion to help increase the healing.

"Now rest for a minute while I get your reward."

Dilys gets 990 gold from her desk and gives it to him.

"Make sure to bring your friend here, after. It's sad that's the only way for some people to accept him."

"Everyone already knows I guess," Warwick says with a sigh.

Dilys simply nods.

"Thank you," Warwick says as he leaves.

Warwick safely makes it back to town.

As he approaches the inn Nora gives him a disappointing look.

"If you have a better plan, I'd love to hear it."

"I wish I did. He fell asleep shortly after we started Resting, and has been since. He was really happy to meet humans that accepted him for him, instead of trying to fight."

Warwick averts his gaze and walks over to Demoko.

Warwick gently shakes his shoulder, "Hey buddy. I have some good news and bad news."

Demoko wakes up with a peaceful smile on his face.

"I have a way to get everyone in town to accept you all at once, but..."
