Episode 33: Frozen Engineers

Warwick shivers and covers his arms with his hands.

"I'm go-going to ta-tag the Ga-gate real qu-quick," Warwick stutters.

"Okay, I'll wait here."

Warwick walks closer to the Mana Tunnel, slowing down more and more as he succumbs to the cold.

"I-i-i'm not go-going to ma-make it... Su-summon Demo-moko!"

Demoko appears, still waking up and now sitting in the snow.

Demoko starts growling at Avelin, before realizing she's not there and Warwick is freezing.

Altam prepares for a potential conflict from his location, as Demoko lifts Warwick up.

"Th-thanks, Demoko. I need to t-tag the Gate, th-then h-head inside."

Demoko nods, and starts carrying Warwick forward before stating, "You know it is a Mana Tunnel, not a Moon Gate."

"Whatever,"

They tag the Mana Tunnel and start heading back as Altam looks more terrified the closer they get to him.

"Altam, you should chill out," Warwick jests in passing, having warmed up somewhat.

"Are you sure that thing is safe?" Altam asks nervously.

"Not after being called 'that thing'!" Demoko snaps back.

"I appreciate that, but don't make yourself seem more threatening," Warwick commends.

"Sorry, I am safe,"

Altam cautiously follows them, a bit more concerned now.

As they approach the entrance to the Hillwen mines, the two armored giants guarding the entrance cross their lances to block the path.

"Are you working for Cichol?" One of the guards asked.

"No, I'm just here with my pet and my patron to learn engineering."

"Is your pet under control?"

"Fully."

The two guards look at each other and nod, then lift their lances for them to walk in.

The trio walk in and see several engineers and researchers, all giants.

There's a minecart rail running through the center of the room towards an elevator managed by a guard and two giants in black trenchcoats.

Warwick approaches one of the engineers.

A shirtless, older-looking, yet extremely muscular giant holding a huge drill with a long shaft that appears more like a lance.

"Hector, the finest engineer of all time. It's a pleasure to meet you," Warwick cheerfully introduces, whilst holding out his hand for a shake.

"Ah, my fame precedes me! Great to meet you too, little one!" Hector states, giving Warwick a painfully firm handshake.

Warwick gathers his footing after the handshake ends.

"I'm wanting to get into engineering, and was hoping to buy some supplies off you and enter the mines."

"I have the money, just let me know how much you need for his goods," Altam informs.

"Ah, so what is it you're looking for?"

"I need a Zeder II, a Mining Drill, two sets of Training Mana Bullets, and an Engineering Bag."

"That will be 25,650 gold."

Altam gulps, then pays Hector in full.

Hector gives the equipment to Warwick, who manages to fit everything into the fanny pack sized bag.

"While I'm here, could you use help with anything?" Warwick asks.

"Yes, though I can only allow each person to help once a month. I'm sure it will help with your training," Hector informs.

"Definitely!" Warwick exclaims.

"Great good luck! If you manage to make 5, I'll exchange them for a reward." Hector states, handing Warwick 50 Hilwen Ore Fragments.

Warwick gains a huge grin as he realizes these are regular Hilwen Ore Fragments.

Using the workbench, Warwick pounds the glowing fragments together on the anvil.

Warwick manages to succeed every time and creates 10 Hillwen.

He puts 5 of them in his Engineering Bag and hands the other five to Hector.

"Great job," Hector states, as he hands him 3,000 gold, 1 Emerald Core, and an Adventurer's Seal.

Warwick's eyes grow wide at the amount of gold.

"Could my wolfman friend give it a try?" Warwick asks.

"Sure. What's your name boy?" Hector asks Demoko.

"My name is Demoko. I was not aware you would give me this chance."

"Of course, here." Hector hands Demoko 10 Hillwen Ore.

Demoko succeeds 8 times, and has 4 ore left over.

He hands hector the 5, and gives the reward to Warwick.

"Altam, here," Warwick prompts, handing Altam the 6,000 gold.

"You don't need to do that."

"It's the least I can do. You made this possible. Also, worst-case scenario, I borrow it from you again."

Altam sighs then accepts the gold.

"Altam, can you take us back to Tir Chonaill?"

Altam nods.

Warwick yells "Return!" as Altam puts one hand on his shoulder, and uses a Waxen Wing to teleport them where they first met Avelin.

"Thanks, for everything. I should be able to make it to Emain Macha if I need to meet with you again."

Altam nods and teleports away with a Waxen Wing.

Warwick heads to the bank and sees it's closed for the night.

"Figures. I should probably get some sleep."

Warwick heads back behind the Grocery Store, summons Demoko, and the two rest for the night.

Episode 32: Knightly Debate

While waiting, Warwick pulls out his knife.

Upon inspection, he notices the blade is cracked throughout.

"Of course, I should have expected the durability to be nill."

He waits a bit longer, as Avelin teleports back in.

"Hey! So what-" Warwick starts to ask, as Avelin grabs him by the collar and presses him against the wall.

"Tell me what you know! RIGHT NOW!"

"Did something go wrong?"

"That's not an answer!" She yells, pushing him against the wall with more and more force.

"I- can- n't- breathe!"

"Avelin!" Talvish yells, seeming to have appeared with Altam whilst neither was looking.

Avelin drops Warwick, who starts gasping for breath while holding his throat.

"He's been right. Shouldn't we trust him?" Altam asks.

"He knows more then he should. It's like he's lived through everything, and is trying to figure out when he showed up. Yet, he doesn't seem prepared for what he did."

"I'm not. I'm years behind where I should be. And I'm hundreds of thousands of gold short of what I need to pull this off. I need help to save this world I love. Will you help?"

"Will you tell us what's going on?" Avelin asks.

"I have read a fantasy story about a wizard that finds a spell to go back in time and destroyed the future. Is it something like that? Also, what do you need right now?" Altam inquires.

"He said 27 thousand gold and transportation to the Hillwen mines. He's also not a member of the Alban Knights, in case you need reminding," Talvish informs.

"I have that. I can get him there," Altam suggests.

Warwick smiles at him, "Thank you Altam, I knew I could count on you."

"This is insane! How do you even have that much?" Avelin asks, obviously annoyed by this situation.

"I've been saving up for a long time, though I don't have much more than that."

Warwick avoids eye contact upon hearing that.

"You feel bad about taking advantage of his generosity?" Talvish asks.

Altam starts to abject to that, as Talvish holds up his hand.

"I do, though I'm also considering the fact that he is among the ones that die if I fail."

Altam gumps at hearing that.

"So, how do you plan to protect yourself? It's dangerous out there, and you can't defend yourself," Avelin inquires.

"Demoko, my pet wolfman. He's strong, and he's starting to grasp magic."

Altam and Talvish just stare at him, mouths agape.

"I can summon him, he's really nice!" Warwick sheepishly states, trying to ease the conversation forward.

Talvish looks at Avelin, who's glaring at Warwick, then states, "So, I thought I was good at taking jokes, but this one isn't sitting well."

"It's not a joke. He's likely the one to make the difference between me saving people, and me just coming back thanks to the Soul Stream, surrounded by the bodies of my comrades. He's also part of the deal."

"What deal!" Avelin yells.

"The whole convince me to save the world thing. We've been talking about it all night."

"I would choose my words wisely if I was you," Talvish hints.

"Yeah, I'm exhausted of having to always watch what I say. I've already proven myself, and I'm getting fed up with a false leverage you're trying to push on me. If I die, I still live. If you all die, y'all stay dead. Sure, I won't even try to hurt you, but if you don't help me, I'm the only one that survives. Those are the facts. Now, we've already worked out a plan, and you have the means to help me. The hopes of the world rest in this decision from you, for I will fail to save everyone on my own if I try my best. What is your decision?" Warwick lays down the law, dropping all pretense of playing nice.

Everyone just stares at him in shock.

Altam gulps before hesitantly speaking, "I'll still help. I don't think we have a lot of options."

"Wherever you're getting your information, someone saved everyone. How do you know it's you?" Talvish asks, trying to move the conversation forward.

"Because the person reading the information IS the one who has to save everyone. The d- My sources would have me be far stronger when I got to this point. I'm honestly not sure I can pull this off."

"If Avelin agrees, Pihne already believes you to be worthy, and I agree, that'll be enough for you to become an Alban Knight. It's up to you Avelin," Talvish informs.

"I don't trust him."

"He's proven he's telling the truth. I don't trust him either, but we can't let our judgments bring the world's destruction." Talvish conveys.

"I'm right here!" Warwick yells.

"You'll get used to the higher-ups talking about you while you're around," Altam comforts.

"Fine. But if he slips up, I'll serve him his punishment myself," Avelin agrees, but in such a way to send shivers down everyone's spine.

"Then let's get on this. I'm ready when you are Altam,"

"You have the clear to go," Avelin informs.

Altam nods his head, grabs Warwick's shoulder, pulls out a Waxen Wing, and they teleport.

They arrive in a field of snow.

A stone structure to the south, and a cave with two giant guards in front to the north.

Wild dingos can be seen on the west, but they seem to be a safe distance away.

Episode 31: Introduction to The Alban Knights

The two wake up to hear the marching of a knight.

Warwick gets up quickly, as she turns to him.

"Get back, there's a fomor besides you!"

"Calm down Avelin of the Alban Knights, he's with me. Return!"

Her eyes grow wide, then angry, as Demoko disappears.

"Are you with them?" She asks, readying her sword.

"No, they barely gave me the time of day. Not even Pennar showed up, just a prophet."

"How do you know so much?"

"Well, I can confirm I hadn't made it to the meetup point in the alleyways of Emain Macha yet. I have access to, unique sources of information thanks to the Soul Stream. That's how I know about you and or organization," Warwick smugly informs.

In a flash, she draws her sword and presses it against his throat.

"Won't help. I'd just come back to life through the Soul Stream."

Avelin is getting visually angrier, as she glairs at Warwick.

"What do you want?!"

"I want to join," Warwick smiles back.

"What!?" She says with surprise, taking a step back.

"It wouldn't be the first time a milletian joined, plus I am good at keeping secrets. Even if I'm not, I know too much to risk leaving alone."

"I need to talk it over with my superiors. In exchange, you can't tell anyone!"

"My patience is vast but limited. I'll agree to the span of 2 years. After that, I'll reevaluate my plans with the assumption that you've forgotten or they brushed it aside. As we both know, you would leave me hanging rather than tell me I can't join."

She sighs, "We might be able to use you well. Especially with your witt and informants."

"Thanks, I hope to be of service. Let Altam know I'm excited to meet him. One more thing, Do you know Logan?"

"I do not. Is he of importance?" She asks with confusion.

"Not at this time. Looks like I know some future events."

"You're coming with me," She claims, grabbing Warwick by the arm.

Avelin pulls out a Waxen Wing of The Goddess, and in a moment both are transported into a room that looks like the inside of a castle.

A man in ornate heavy armor walks towards the two.

Warwick starts laughing, "I didn't realize how bad of a lie 'meeting your superiors' actually was!"

"She said I was her superior, did she? I didn't know you cared," He sarcastically remarks.

"You know better," She states with a stern look at the man.

"Don't worry Talvish, I can take a joke," Warwick comforts.

"You seriously told him my name? And you call me unprofessional."

Avelin just continues to glair coldly at Talvish.

"She didn't tell me anything. That's why I'm here. I know too much, can't be killed permanently, and want to join."

"Ah, a milletian we've overlooked. So what do you know?" Talvish asks, with an overwhelming sense of calmness and control.

"The Alban Knights is a secret order founded by Aton... Cinimy?... Anyways, Aton's will. You seek to keep the world right and stop outsiders that would negatively interfere, while not interfering as a group yourselves. You are divine warriors, and the two that stand before me are two of the four groups. Your current goal is to stop the Prophets, a group of Fomors who follow a power from another world, and their Apostles, monsters made from the Tuatha de Danann that accepts power from that world. Like when Pihne accepted some when she was little, which killed her parents, and became an Apostle before being saved by the Alban Knights and the Milletian," Warwick explains, confident in his answer.

"One, Aton Cimeni's Will. Two, we can't interfere at all. Three, nothing like that has ever happened to Pihne," Talvish corrects, getting concerned at the end.

Avelin pulls out a Waxen Wing of The Goddess, and in a moment is gone.

"This is meta. Looks like I knew something else that hadn't happened yet. Talvish, did Altam break an oath which caused a Milletian to join the Alban Knights?"

"You're the closest a Milletian has ever came to joining th Alban Knights."

"I Get To Save Everyone!!" Warwick exclaims with glee, until it hits him, "I have to save everyone... I can't get strong enough, fast enough, to do this..."

"What do you know?"

"A lot. So, has any Milletian became a Demigod?"

"Heh. That's not possible," Talvish chuckles, as it sinks in that Warwick is serious.

"Good, I have time. How's Fallon?"

"I'm not sure who that is..."

"Don't worry about it, What's the state on Ruairi?"

"He's a black knight that disappeared on a ferry a while back."

"Then we should be somewhere in G9 or G10. Do you have a budget?"

"That's blunt. What's G9 and G10?"

"Points in history. Do you want to help me help the Alban Knights save the world, or let the world perish by the Apostles' and Prophets' hands?"

"Save the world, but-" Talvish states as Warwick cuts him off.

"Then I need your help. Also, has Shakespear been seen lately?"

"That's the first Milletian which was bound by the Gods to Avon, right?"

"Good, then we're definitely before, or in G13. What about the Goddess of Light?"

"I feel like I'm in a time traveler book. Neamhain? She's been unaccessible."

"G9 it is, hopefully at the start. First I need to go to the Hillwen Mine, and need about 27 thousand gold."

"THAT'S INSANE! You can't expect us to give that kind of money to someone we've just met!" Talvish yells, in shock at the absurdity of the request.

"Which is why I'll need your help. If I'm to help, I need to be at my best. Time is short, and in a few months I barely have a grand."

Talvish is about to dispute, as a non-threatening man with tossed hair teleports in.

"Altam, it's good to meet-" Warwick starts saying, as Altam blows by.

"How much have you told this guy? Anyways, there's no time. All hands are needed for a cleansing ritual!" Altam informs Talvish with worry.

They both teleport off using Waxen Wings of The Goddess before Warwick can get a word in.

"Nothing? This sucks..." Warwick states to himself, now standing in the room alone, realizing how vast and polished this one room is.

He Rests on the ground, "I guess I have to wait for someone to come back then..."

Episode 30: Learning Like A Wolf

"Demoko, use Counter!" Warwick yells as he charges at Demoko with the knife, as Demoko gets into a defensive stance.

Warwick attempts to stab the knife into him, but Demoko easily swipes away the strike and guts Warwick with his claws.

Warwick revives where he is and tries to get back up, the wound in his chest still causing immense pain.

"Ow..." Warwick states, falling back onto the ground, "I forgot about pain..."

"Master, I am sorry! You said-" Demoko starts to frantically state as Lassar interrupts with a "Step aside."

Lassar quickly heals Warwick and tosses a potion to him.

Warwick stands up after drinking it.

"I hope you don't plan on continuing to die."

"No Lassar, I just needed to witness a Counterattack first hand."

"I am sorry master."

"Don't worry about it Demoko, but I'm going to need you to come at me with as much restraint as possible."

Demoko nods, as Warwick gets into a defensive stance.

Demoko, with one claw, pokes at Warwick.

Warwick deflects the attack, causing the claw to stab into his shoulder, as he Counterattacks the blade slides off Demoko's fur as Warwick falls forward... Onto his face...

Ranald breaks out laughing, as Demoko rushes over to help Warwick up.

Lassar heals Warwick's wound.

"I take it back, this is totally worth the potions!" Lassar laughs.

"You know what's funnier? That was a successful attempt!" Ranald informs laughing.

Lassar buckles over from laughter.

"Haha, yeah, laugh at weak little Warwick. At least I'm trying!" Warwick angerly resputes.

"It's not your fault. No doubt you've gotten stronger already," Ranald informs between laughter.

Warwick takes a deep breath and turns back towards Demoko.

"Demoko, are you up for some more?" Warwick asks.

"I do not want to hurt you again..."

"That's fine. Will you use defense, and let me attack you?"

Demoko nods, as the two step back from each other.

Demoko gets into a defensive stance, as Warwick charges at him with the knife, which Demoko easily deflects.

This goes on for about an hour until Warwick backs off.

"Thanks, Demoko, I don't think I can learn any more training like this right now."

Demoko smiles back at him, "I am glad I can help."

"It would probably help more if you fought something that could seriously fight back. Try killing some foxes up the road," Ranald instructs.

"I think first me and Demoko should get some food! How does that sound?"

Demoko nods, as he follows Warwick to the bank.

"Hey Bebhinn, how ya doin'?" Warwick asks as they enter the bank.

"Hey Warwick, how- iyia! I didn't expect you to bring... that into... here... Is... it... as safe as Lassar says?"

"Yeah. We're just here for a few chunks of meat and a couple loaves of bread."

"Was not that public torture supposed to get people to like me? Why do people still think I am just a monster!?" Demoko shouts out, as he starts to cry.

Warwick's eyes go wide, as Demoko falls to his knees.

"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to upset you... um... fomor guy... Is there something that can cheer you up?"

"No, I was just hoping master could get us some Potato & Egg Salad, and some Roasted Bacon, but it turns out we do not have enough, on top of everyone treating me like a monster!.." Demoko states between tears.

"I'm sorry, one day we can get those things. For now, we still have plenty of ambiguous meat and stale bread. I can even try to get some wool for us to sleep on to soften the stone! It's not all bad!" Warwick comforts, as he figures out what Demoko's doing.

"Here," Bebhinn says, handing Warwick a banknote, "Give this to Caitin, tell her it's on me."

"I can't accept that, you're already doing so much for me!" Warwick states as Demoko starts wiping away his tears.

"Nonsense, it's the least I can do!" Bebhinn insists, as she practically forces the note into Warwick's hand.

"Really! Thank you so much lady!" Demoko happily says, as he stands up, the fur around his eyes still wet from his tears.

"I'm sorry for all the trouble I've caused. Thank you for doing all this for us!" Warwick thanks her.

"It's no problem, really. I'm glad to help!" Bebhinn happily smiles back.

Warwick nods back, as they both leave the bank.

"You're a freaking genius!" Warwick yells, hugging Demoko.

"I have learned it from you, master."

"And you've learned well. Let's go get the best meal of either of our lives! You wait around back and I'll go get the food!"

Warwick walks into the grocer.

"Hello Caitin, Bebhinn gave me this voucher for some food," Warwick states, handing Caitin the banknote.

"Wow! I'll get that for you then," Caitin states, as she turns to her stove.

The smell of sizzling bacon and steamed potatoes starts to fill the room before long.

A few minutes goes by, as Caitin finishes the meals.

"Thank you so much!" Warwick states as he piles the plates of food into his arms.

"Anytime, I hope you enjoy!"

"We will!"

Warwick steps out and lays the food out in front of him and Demoko.

Demoko gulps at the sight.

"Let us eat!" They say in unison, as they begin to chow down.

The juicy bacon with just enough crisp to crack against the teeth, the creamy egg and potatoes melting into the mouth with every scoop.

After eating, they both Rest back into the grass.

"I think I died, this is so good!" Demoko comments.

"Don't say that. That's something that can actually happen! Though it feels like it has nevertheless."

They both relax in the grass, as one after another, they close their eyes just long enough to doze off.

Episode 29: Foundation For Learning

The lecture goes on for about an hour, and while Warwick is starting to understand the concepts, only Demoko is actually able to implement them.

"Thank you very much Lassar," Warwick states with a nod.

"I'm still not sure what good it's going to do. Being able to improve at using mana at a higher rate is rather useless when you don't have any mana to use."

"I'll find a way. In fact, I think I already have, it's just a matter of getting to it."

"Ohh. What's the method?" Lassar asks with excitement.

"Duel guns. They don't require mana to start using but should help me get some mana. Once-"

"-You have something, you'll be able to grow with actual magic. I expect a full report!" Lassar finishes with a wink.

"I'll do what I can. Until then, I'll probably spend quite a time in this lovely little town. I need to get strong enough to ensure my own survival, and train in the things I can for the time being."

"That's a smart goal. I assume your next stop is Endelyon?"

"You know it! Demoko, if you want, you can stay here. It should be safer."

Demoko nods, "I agree. I can always study up or train with Ranald."

"Sounds like a plan. I'll see you two later!" Warwick states as he runs out, and travels the backway to the church.

"Hello, Endelyon! How's everything going today?"

"Tiring actually. I could use help getting some barley if you have a minute."

"I'm on it! I was hoping to help you out today anyways," Warwick states with a smile.

"You're so sweet, thank you so much!"

"No problem! I'll be on my way then, be back soon!"

Warwick heads to the farmland, collects 10 Barley without much issue, and brings them back to Endelyon.

"Thank you so much for helping me out! I got these for you. I hope they help!" Endelyon states, handing Warwick 4 Holy Waters.

"It's a pleasure. Thank you so much for these!" Warwick responds, taking them, and putting them into his pockets.

"If you want, can you come by tomorrow? I can always use the help!" Endelyon states with a smile.

"I plan on it. I'll catch you then!" Warwick replies with a smile, as he starts walking towards the bank.

Once Warwick walks in, he notices Bebhinn isn't at the desk.

Upon closer inspection, she can be heard searching for something in the back.

"Is everything okay?" Warwick yells back.

"Yeah, I'll-" She starts to yell back as a loud THUD is heard.

"Ow... I'll be there in a minute!"

Less than a minute later, Bebhinn comes up to the desk.

"Hello Warwick, how can I help you?"

"What are you doing back there?" Warwick asks with confusion.

"Trying to find that lamp. I never lost anything before, and it's weird that it has just disappeared."

"All has been forgiven with the lamp. I have some holy waters I wish to store," Warwick states, as he pulls the Holy Waters out and puts them onto the desk.

"I'll get these stored right away for you!" Bebhinn informs with a nod, as she takes them back.

Warwick nods back and heads out.

He makes it back to the school and walks into the magic class.

"Hey, Demoko. Do you have a minute to help me spar?"

Demoko frantically nods his head "no."

"C'mon. What's the worst that could happen?"

"I could kill you... I do not want that!"

"I can take a few deaths. You forget, here I'm a milletian."

"Right... I guess it is fine then..." Demoko states, getting up from a chair.

"Don't worry too much. If I don't get better while I have a safety net, I won't be ready when that net's gone," Warwick states with a smile.

"If you say so..."

The two head outside, as Ranald gives them a look.

"What are you two up to?"

"Demoko's going to help me work on my melee combat!"

"I could teach you. That is my job as a combat teacher."

Warwick stairs back in a terrified gaze.

"I guess I deserve that. I'll just stand here on the sidelines in case something goes wrong."

Lassar comes out with more food.

"Where do you keep getting this food from?" Warwick asks.

"Are you calling me fat!" Lassar yells, with a firebolt in her hand.

"No!-No! You look really slender. I'm ju-"

"So you think I'm just a bag of bones then!" She yells more.

Warwick runs behind Demoko.

"He should have max Mana Deflector!"

Lassar and Ranald break out into laughter.

"You should get a look at your face!" Ranald laughs.

Warwick huffs, "It's not funny."

"Yes, it is," Lassar retorts through her laughter.

"You really need some chill!" Ranald yells out through his laughter.

Warwick turns away.

"Now master. You should not hand them a frozen shoulder," Demoko says, trying to be funny.

"And... It's dead," Lassar declares, as the laughter stops.

"Thank you Demoko," Warwick credits with a smile.

Demoko looks back and forth between Lassar and Warwick, trying to figure out what part he said wrong.

"Don't worry about it. Let's just get started," Warwick states, drawing his Gathering Knife.

Episode 21.1: Ester And The Lamp

Ester walks out of the room and heads up the stairs to her dorm room.

"This is the weirdest day of my life!" She says walking into her dorm room.

She sits down at her desk before jumping back up from the pain.

"Ow! What the?" She yells as she looks at the shaking lamp on her chair.

She heads to the door, as the Djinn materializes from a trail of smoke in front of her.

"Why so fast master! There's no need to fear your humble servant," The Djinn explains, blocking the door.

"We have to get you back to your master," Esper states, staring her down.

"I don't understand. You're my master. Do you not want me?" The Djinn asks, looking like she's about to cry.

"It's not that! I'm just trying to do the right thing!" Esper defensively states, a bit taken by the Djinn's sudden upset.

"My brother was right, I am worthless as a Djinn!.." She falls on her knees to the floor, crying.

"You're not worthless! Warwick sees great value in you, we just need to get you back to him!"

The Djinn's eyes go wide upon hearing Warwick's name.

"No! Not him! I don't want him to do that to me again!" The Djinn cries out as she starts bawling.

"What did he do to you!" Esper asks, both concerned and with growing anger at Warwick while sitting next to her to help her talk it out.

"Please... Don't make me talk... about it... Especially after watching what he did to his wolf!" She states, her tears almost making her incomprehensible.

"W-what did he do to Demoko?" Esper cautiously asks.

The Djinn gulps before explaining.

'In the world, we were in... He had Demoko tortured in front of the whole town... He told Demoko that this is what was needed to get everyone to like him... And then... He just watched..."

"What The HELL IS WRONG WITH HIM!!!" Esper yells, full of rage, "I'm going to let him have it!"

"Wait! He's gained power from that world! And he has a control curse on Demoko to make him perfectly obedient!" The Djinn cautions.

"Then, what would you suggest?" Esper asks.

The Djinn momentarily has a smile under her tear-soaked face.

"I can help! I can give you the same thing I gave him. And you can pick power to make him pay for what he did to us, and the manipulation he did to you!" The Djinn passionately informs.

"So, I do what he did?"

"NO!" The Djinn quickly yells before catching herself, "You have to find a faster path. He picked a world where it would be difficult for you to get magic. You need one that makes it easy! Do you need any information?"

Esper, too angry to be concerned with that last line, answers, "No. When I was little I would play Wizard 101. It's a game that if I start in Wizard City I can safely and successfully get magic within a few minutes."

"You'll need two more worlds. They can be anything, mythology, fantasy, you name it."

"Let's go with, Harry Potter, but about five years before he came to the school. Hmm... Twilight. I know they weren't the best reads, but becoming an immortal without the typical drawbacks would be the best choice."

"It is so. Now just hide the lamp somewhere safe in this world, and you can go into your first just by willing it. And, thank you. No one ever showed such caring to me."

"It sounds like you've hung with the wrong people. There are good people in this world, you just have to find them!" Esper says, happy that she's cheered up.

"I'll take my leave now ma-f-friend."

"I'm your friend. Don't worry. I'll have everything taken care of," Esper states as she picks up the lamp.

The Djinn vanishes as Esper slides the lamp under the bed, behind the drawers.

"Now we take care of this. Do I-" She starts saying to herself, as everything fades to white.

She comes to in front of Merle Ambrose, "need to..."

"So good you were able to make it! We were worried you weren't able to get through," Ambrose states as if expecting her.

"I'm as glad as you. Do you mind if I skip the test and just pick my school? I'm really excited to get into this!" She states.

"Are you sure? The Professor showed huge consequences from skipping the test on a trip through his telegraph box."

Esper facepalms.

"I forgot that was in here," She mumbles to herself before answering, "Yes, I am quite sure. I would like to join the Life School."

"That's a pleasant choice. You ready to get started?"

"Yes. Thank you so much for this opportunity!

"Follow me to get started," Ambrose states, as he walks onto the same portal Esper showed up on.

Esper quickly follows.

Episode 28: Post-Traumatic Reunion

Warwick's eyes start to open, flooded by the light in the room.

"He's awake!" Dilys can be heard saying.

Warwick, still stunned, starts looking at his hands to make sure he's him.

"I'm back... DEMOKO! Where's Demoko!?" He asks, starting to freak out as he's coming to.

"Calm down! Everything's fine! Is that you're lycanthrope friend? If so, I believe he's still at the school," Dilys informs, trying to calm him and hold him still.

"I need to apologize while I still know what this feels like!" Warwick states, slipping out of her grip, and falling face-first onto the floor.

Dilys desperately tries to help him up.

"You're in no condition to walk! What happened?"

"That potion put me into a shadow mission memory dungeon where I was Demoko. I need-" Warwick starts explaining while trying to run as he runs into a wall, and falls backward.

"Warwick! You need to stop!" Dilys yells, again trying to help him up.

"Please... It's slipping away like a dream..." Warwick pleads.

"Wait here, I'll get Trefor to help," Dilys states, as she walks out.

Warwick waits at the edge of the bed, waiting a few minutes for Dilys to return with Trefor.

"I see," Trefor states as he walks in.

"Here we go!" Trefor yells, picking up Warwick.

"Ahh! What are you doing!?" Warwick yells, starting to flip out.

"You actually want to make it to the school, right?"

Warwick nods and calms down.

Trefor manages to Windmill an attacking fox away as they safely make it into town.

Ranald looks concerned at the sight when he sees the two enter the schoolyard.

"Where's Demoko!?"

Ranald points at the door to the magic classroom with a wide-eyed expression.

Trefor and Warwick walk in and see Lassar talking about the basics of mana with Demoko.

"Demoko! I'm sorry!" Warwick yells, jumping down from Trefor's arms, tripping over a chair, sliding through glass labware on the table, falling off the table, and landing on his face next to Demoko.

"Master! Are you okay!?" Demoko asks with great concern.

"I'-f mine. Are you okay?" Warwick asks Demoko in response, having glass shards sticking out of his face.

Demoko's eyes just go wide, as he doesn't know what to do.

"I'f been a jerk in hays I didn't enn realize. I'm sorry I 'ah put you through that, fer neglect and not caring. I-" Warwick starts trying to apologize, bearly even conscious before Demoko interrupts.

"All is forgiven. Now-" Demoko tries to comfort before Warwick interrupts.

"IT'S NOT OKAY! I've done wrong, and need to tell you while I feel..." Warwick tries to explain, before seeming to run out of words.

While the dialogue was going on, Lassar pulls out a potion from her desk, walks over to Warwick, and uncorks it.

"Hey, Warwick. How does this perfume smell?" Lassar asks, offering Warwick to smell the bottle.

"less see," Warwick tries to smell the perfume, before passing out.

Warwick wakes up a bit later, healed of his wounds but still a bit drunken.

"Uhh... What was that?" Warwick asks, still groggy.

"A potion made by extracting a Poison Herb and a Mana Herb into alcohol, altering it with an Ice Elemental, and triggering it with a Wind Crystal," Lassar cheerfully explains.

"You make my head hurt..." Warwick painfully moans.

"She is a very good teacher. I am starting to understand how to use mana," Demoko informs excitedly.

Warwick gives Demoko a threatening look.

"What did I do?" Demoko asks with concern.

"Nothing you're aware of. Is it okay if I rest here a bit? I think I'm too intoxicated to move," Warwick asks.

"Sure. I'm going to continue with the lesson though,"

Warwick shifts himself to a Resting position, as Lassar continues teaching Demoko about the basics of magic.

After a few minutes goes by, Warwick raises his hand.

"Yes, Warwick?"

"So, how do you feel mana?"

"It's pretty easy to feel. have you tried taking a few deep breaths under the moonlight?"

"I actually have and felt nothing."

"You may not be able to use mana then."

Warwick looks very saddened by that answer.

"Isn't there anything you can do?"

"While I don't encourage giving up, you'd be the first person born without the ability to use mana to use it if you succeed."

"So, you have no ideas?"

"If you can find a way to even get a small amount of mana, you should be able to get that to grow. You might even be able to figure out how to learn to feel mana. Besides trying to hold a wand just to see, I don't have any other advice." Lassar explains.

"Master, I am so sorry. If you want, I can stop-" Demoko informs, trying to comfort Warwick as he blurts in.

"NO! Don't stop just for me, especially when I see it make you so happy!"

Demoko is a bit taken back by the sudden interjection but smiles at the sentiment.

"Warwick, would you like us to have class outside, so you can rest in here?"

"No, I should still be able to learn the concepts, even if I can't implement them. Besides, I have to be here to support Demoko,"

"Thank you, master," Demoko states with a peaceful, painting-like half-smile.

"Let's continue on with the lesson. Now If you want to..." Lassar redirects, as she continues teaching.

Episode 27: Demoko's Memento Potion

Everything's a bit hazy, as Warwick starts waking up to a voice.

"Hey buddy, I have some good news and bad news," The voice states, as he feels his shoulder gently shake.

"What's going on... Is this a memory dungeon?" Warwick asks himself, unable to get any words out as he feels himself start to sit up peacefully.

"I have a way to get everyone in town to accept you all at once, but I'm going to need you to take a few hits," The voice informs, as Warwick starts to realize it's himself.

"What?" Demoko(Warwick) asks, all the while thinking, "Crap, crap, crap! I need the goddess statue. No, this is likely a memory shadow mission, not a dungeon. I need to act out of character. I don't know what skills I have..."

"You'll need to be in a combat demonstration. Effectively, you're going to need to take enough claymore hits to regenerate without getting enraged," Warwick(NPC) informs.

"Gulp... Okay, master..." Demoko(Warwick) states, as he gets up with his head and ears held low.

As they start walking towards the town square, Demoko(Warwick) regains the ability to control himself.

Piaras(NPC) and Nora(NPC) show up, one at the inn door, and the other laying on the hill.

"Guys, let's make sure not to let violence control us!" Demoko(Warwick) states, trying to change events.

"Look at that, the monster's scared!" Piaras(NPC) mocks.

"Shut The Hell Up," Warwick(NPC) yells.

"I'm not the one that brought a monster into town, nor did I betray the Goddess," Piaras(NPC) responds, as Warwick(NPC) takes a swing at Piaras(NPC).

"Stop!" Demoko(Warwick) yells, stepping in the way and taking the punch, which triggers his Heavy Stander.

"Ah!" Warwick(NPC) gasps, holding his fist, "Demoko! What's wrong with you!"

"Am I really like that?" Warwick thinks to himself.

"See, you have no control over your monster!" Piaras(NPC) states, taking out his knife and stabbing Demoko(Warwick).

The NPCs disappear, as a loud sound of disappointment plays.

"So, I have to play along... I'm not really like that? Am I? Why am I crying?" Demoko(Warwick) asks himself, touching his face and feeling the tears on his fur.

Demoko(Warwick) Rests on the ground, as he starts to truly realize what he is.

"I'm so sorry Demoko!" Warwick yells, breaking down into tears.

Demoko(Warwick) takes a few moments to Rest, processing what he's done, and what Demoko has felt.

"Why would he just forgive me like that... Is it just because he feels he has too? No, there's something else, but I don't understand it," Demoko(Warwick) covers his face with his claws, "I can't believe I'm like this!"

He takes a few more minutes to process what's happening.

"I wish I could just fix everything... No matter what, I have to get out... How do I try again?"

With that question, everything gets hazy.

Demoko(Warwick) is standing near Warwick(NPC), as Piaras(NPC) and Nora(NPC) appear in their positions.

"I'll stay quiet, and jump in front of the knife strike."

"Looks like he's finally going to have it handed to him! That's what Fomors like him get!" Piaras(NPC) mocks, as Demoko(Warwick) struggles to hold back.

"Shut The Hell UP!" Warwick(NPC) yells.

"I'm not the one that brought a monster into town, nor did I betray the Goddess," Piaras(NPC) retorts, as Warwick(NPC) jabs him in the stomach.

Demoko(Warwick) sees Nora(NPC)'s shock, as the sound of a knife being drawn can be heard.

Demoko(Warwick) Jumps in the way, saying "He never sided with Cichol, and despite me not wanting to hurt you, I won't let you hurt Warwick!"

"Uncle, he has done nothing wrong, why not give him a chance?" Nora(NPC) cuts in, trying to get Piaras(NPC) to calm down.

"That naivety is why my brother died, you should know better!" Piaras(NPC) yells, as Nora(NPC)'s eyes widen, and she runs off in devastation.

"Change of plans. I don't want him dead though, just a quick hit," Warwick(NPC) commands.

"Warwick, think about your plan. Wouldn't that destroy any hope of it succeeding?" Demoko(Warwick) persuades, convincing Warwick(NPC) not to fight.

"You're right. Go talk to Duncan, the old man up the hill. I'm going to go check on Nora," Warwick(NPC) says with a sigh.

Demoko(Warwick) nods and starts heading up the hill.

"No wonder Cichol let you have that one, he is a coward!" can faintly be heard from Piaras(NPC), as everything becomes cloudy.

When things clear up Demoko(Warwick) is walking up the steps in front of Duncan(NPC).

"Wow, a fomor is actually going through with this willingly. I honestly thought this was a joke,"

"Yeah, well I need to prove that I can be trusted. Only then will I be accepted."

"That's sad but true. I would have thought Warwick would come up with a better idea, but I guess not. Head to the center of town square once you're ready. Trefor will head down there once it's time to start."

Demoko(Warwick) nods and starts heading down the stairs, as everything gets cloudy.

Once things clear up, he's standing in the town square.

Nora's singing can be heard faintly from the graveyard, as Trefor(NPC) leans close to whisper something in his ear.

"I'm surprised you're willing to go through with this. You're definitely a Fomor worthy of respect just for being willing. I can help you find another way. Are you sure you want to go through with this?" Trefor(NPC) whispers into his ear.

"He had a way out, but still went through with it? I can feel an emotion I can only define as loyalty and faith. He trusted me that much to rely on my method? I really hope this goes to the next scene after I nod," Demoko(Warwick) thinks to himself, hoping for a way out, as he nods.

They both step back, give each other a look of conformation, as Trefor(NPC) draws his sword.

Trefor(NPC) uses Smash on Demoko(Warwick), but it triggers Demoko(Warwick)'s Heavy Stander, and instead of knocking Demoko(Warwick) to the ground, sends Trefor(NPC) backward.

"This hurts so bad! How did he manage this? There's that feeling again. He did it for me..."

Trefor(NPC) slashes his sword into Demoko(Warwick), as Demoko(Warwick) levels up and fully heals.

"This hurts! This hurts! This hurts!"

"Is everyone satisfied? It does not strike back, and cannot be killed by us," Trefor informs the crowd, as he steps back.

"Step aside!" Ranald(NPC) states as he appears at the edge of the town square.

"Please fade, Please fade, please fade!"

"Haven't I been through enough?" Demoko(Warwick) asks, in terror of the onslaught that's about to follow.

"No. While Trefor is our town's guard, it wouldn't be long for someone to start something with you and expect me to finish it. I'm going to set the discussion in stone right now, no matter what the answer is," Ranald(NPC) informs, as he begins to glow.

Ranald(NPC) teleports behind Demoko(Warwick), as everything turns cloudy.

Things clear up, as Demoko(Warwick) notices he's in a bed and hears "C-can I hug him?"

"Don't ask me, ask him," Warwick(NPC) states, seemingly preoccupied with something else.

"Can I hug you?" Josh(NPC) asks.

"I have to say yes, don't I? I can barely see, everything's dizzy. This is deffinately not just alcohol."

"Yes..." Demoko(Warwick) Nervously answeres.

Josh(NPC) gives him a long hug, while rubbing his back, and nuzzling his neck.

"I need this to stop... I need this to stop now... I'm going to kill him if he doesn't stop now..."

"Master... Help..." Demoko(Warwick) cries out, his ears pressed back.

"Okay, Josh, back it off," Warwick(NPC) commands, as Josh(NPC) backs off.

"My bad... You know, if you need more room to rest from your wound, he could always split my bed instead..." Josh(NPC) suggests.

"No no No! That is not happening!"

"Yeah... I'm not trusting you right now... I'm going to go find that CSI reference," Warwick(NPC) states, obviously no longer paying any heed to Demoko(Warwick)'s discomfort.

Demoko(Warwick) curls back up against the wall, partly falling into the crack between the bed and the wall, as a completion sound can be heard, and everything starts fading to white.

Episode 26: Assault And Battery

"No! No! No!" Warwick yells, starting to run, as Ranald teleports in front, Bashing him back, then Slashing the blades down into him before he can even try to get up.

Ranald steps back, standing in front of the way out of the school courtyard.

"Master!" Demoko yells, running over.

"Stay back," Ranald states, walking over.

Demoko continues with a low growl.

"I'd suggest you'd stand back," Lassar states between bites, "He looks ready to use Windmill."

Demoko rushes at Ranald, who responds by quickly spinning, the swords cutting into him and launching him back.

"Demoko, stay back! That's an order!" Warwick commands, now standing, yet in pain.

Demoko steps safely out of range, as he starts to come too, unable to move forward.

"Good, it's just one on one practice for now," Ranald states, before unleashing an onslaught of blows, teleporting in between.

Warwick stands there gasping and shaking in pain, unable to even process the excruciating pain building with each blow.

As he falls to his knees, Ranald spins himself, rapidly cutting the blades into Warwick and knocking him back, at which Ranald teleports behind him and continues the assault.

"Please stop!" Demoko cries out, as the assault continues.

"Don't worry. He's a milletian, he can take it. Besides, he never cried out when it happened to you," Lassar explains while cashing healing on him.

"But-" Demoko tries to refute, as Warwick goes flying between them, hitting a bench.

"Besides, we both decided to teach you two for free after this," Lassar explains.

"I know what I did was wrong, I'm- Did she say free?" Warwick starts to cry out before processing what Lassar said.

Ranald Smashes his face in over the bench with the ghost swords, "Yes, but I'm hoping you're getting the idea from this lesson."

"Understanding what I did to Demoko is wrong, and never doing something like that again?" Warwick asks in confirmation.

Ranald Smashes Warwick into the center of the courtyard.

"That's part of it. Demoko is used to taking damage and can continue moving forward despite being hurt. Most milletians have no reaction. If you plan to succeed like them, you'll need regular endurance training,"

"REGULAR!!! You gotta-" Warwick starts to freak out, as Ranald teleports next to him and continues the assault.

"Please stop! How long are you going to continue this!?" Demoko asks, worrying about Warwick.

"Until I run out of Final Hit. It should still be another 20 minutes," Ranald calmly states, continuing the assault.

"Why don't you come inside, and we can get a head start on your first lesson on magic?" Lassar asks, trying to lead Demoko inside.

"But I want to help him," Demoko states, still trying to get himself to move forward.

"It's for his own good, and for yours. The best thing we can do is get a head start on your training so you can better help him. Wouldn't that be an ideal way to spend this time?" Lassar convincingly suggests.

Demoko gulps and nods, as the two head inside.

The assault continues until Ranald stops glowing, landing the final hit through Warwick's heart with the ghost sword.

Warwick falls to the ground, his eyes wide in shock.

"That was a workout!" Ranald exhaustingly states as he sits down on a bench.

It takes about ten minutes for Warwick to come to and start to get up.

"Recovered in half the time of a non-stop assault. You're going to need to get that down to zero if you want to survive. Again!"

"AGAIN!!! Wait! No, no, no!"

Warwick starts panicking, as Ranald begins laughing.

"You should see your face. Don't worry, we're done for now. Come collect your payment for the potion," Ranald states, holding out a bag of coins.

Warwick cautiously gets up, and starts walking over.

He's hunched up, like the memories of the pain keep repeating in the head.

"Yeah, you haven't recovered yet. Have you?" Ranald asks.

As Ranald gets up to bring the money over, Warwick jumps back in terror, tripping and falling on his back.

"Please tell me you're joking! I guess I went a little hard. Don't worry, I'm not going to attack you," Ranald states walking over.

Warwick cowers as Ranald picks him up.

"Ah! Put me down! Put Me Down!" Warwick starts yelling.

"Calm down, I'm just taking you to the Healer's House."

They safely make it there, as Ranald walks in.

Dilys runs over, "What happened!?"

"I think I broke him," Ranald says anxiously.

"Lay him down there. I'll make up a potion for him real quick,"

Dilys starts making an Elixir of Sleep.

Dilys helps Warwick drink it.

"Now... What did you do!" Dilys yells at Ranald.

"Milletians take those kinds of hits, die, then walk back into the fight without batting an eye! How..." Ranald starts trying to explain as Warwick slips into sleep.

Episode 25: Ebb And Flow

Warwick runs down the stairs with his sack on his back.

"You seem in a hurry," Piaras observes.

Warwick gulps before responding, "Yeah, I'm hoping to make it to the bank before helping Dilys out."

"Are you scared of me?"

"Of course not! Why would I be afraid of you?" Warwick asks nervously.

"A hunch."

"Welp, I gotta go! Goodbye!" Warwick blurts out, jetting out the door.

Once out of the door, he sees Nora.

On sight, he gives Nora a hug, "It's good to see you! Let's not let Piaras know about the memory thing."

"Good to see you too. Where did you get that stuff from?" Nora asks, surprised by the random hug.

"It's the stuff I left in the room before the memory thing happened," Warwick states, letting go and picking his bag back up.

"How close were we?"

"Pretty close, we can talk about this later. I have a busy day,"

"Oh. That works. Will I see you here tonight?"

"I'll probably stay somewhere else. But I should see you soon!"

"I see. Do not be long, you hear?"

"I do."

With that Warwick runs to the bank.

"Bebhinn, hows my lamp?" Warwick asks, running in.

"It's in the back, safe and secured. Why do you ask?"

"I got a tip from a goddess that it was stolen," Warwick states, accusingly.

"That's impossible... Let me go check..."

Bebhinn dubiously heads to the back.

A few moments later and the sound of someone frantically searching for something can be heard.

Bebhinn comes back with a concerned look.

"I cannot seem to find it. This has never happened before. I-"

"THE HELL!" Warwick yells, slamming his hands on the desk, "There was a freaking genie in that lamp! You cost me a genie! Do you know the chances of finding a genie!? Virtually None! The chances of anyone finding a genie in my world are so low people think they don't exist, I out of over 5 billion people get one, and you 'cannot seem to find it'! How do you plan to remedy this!"

"I'm so sorry... I-I... Umm..." Bebhinn stutters with a gulp.

"I'm waiting!"

"I'll store anything you want for free! Does that work!"

"Let me get it in writing, and maybe I'll overlook this."

In terror, Bebhinn writes two copies of a note, stating the agreement and Warwick's account number and pin.

She hands him one copy of the said note.

"Thank you. I'd like to store this," He takes out the sickle and knife as well as a large chunk of meat from the sack before handing it to her, "Thank you for not leaving me at a total loss."

"You're welcome. Are we good," Bebhinn asks nervously, taking the bag.

"Of course, we have a deal after all," Warwick confirms, with a warm smile.

Warwick walks towards the door, "If it turns up, let me know!" He says walking out.

Once a little ways away from the door, Warwick whispers to himself, "I can't believe that worked! No wonder Jack's mom yells so much!"

.He makes his way to the healer's house safely.

"You're late!" Dilys states, with a look that clearly conveys: "You're in trouble."

Warwick gulps, "She lost my genie..."

"What? Are you here to work or not?"

"Err... Yes? What do you need me to do?"

"Take this potion to Ranald. He has the rest of your instructions, as well as the payment," Dilys states, handing him the potion.

"I will deliver it post-haste!" Warwick responds, heading out the door.

He safely makes it to the school without any interruptions.

"Hey Ranald, I have a potion for you from Dilys. She said you had the payment?"

"Yes though you're getting a lesson first. Where's your fomor pet?" Ranald asks, strangely having two ghost swords on his hilt.

"Oh, I'll get him. Summon Demoko!"

Demoko shows up besides Ranald.

"Demoko, we're going to have a combat lesson, I want you to watch," Ranald informs.

Demoko nods and creates distance before Resting on the ground.

Lassar steps out of the school building and sits on a step with some food.

"Lassar, what are you doing?" Warwick asks.

"Watching the lesson, usually I'm too busy teaching a class. Though this one's special," She says before taking a bite of her Potato & Egg Salad.

"You're going to want to drink that potion now," Ranald suggests.

Warwick trustingly drinks the potion, "This tastes horrible, what does it do?"

"Makes it so you can't be killed by a Ghost Sword for a few hours," Ranald informs, focusing on his now drawn blades as he begins to glow.

Warwick's eyes widen with the understanding of what's about to happen.

Episode 24: Regret and Reconnect

"Welcome traveler, you look like you just saw a ghost," Piaras observes, confused by Warwick's surprise.

"He was-" Nora starts to say as Warwick interrupts her.

"Was wondering if it's not too late to get an inn room. I saw the one on the left from outside, and it appears vacant. I'll get the gold," Warwick hastily states as he fumbles to get the gold out of his pocket.

"Umm, yes actually. We still need to clean up that room though," Piaras states, as the sum of the gold Warwick places on the table reaches 124

"It's no problem, I'll clean it up," Warwick spits as fast as Eminem, as he dashes up the stairs and slams the door.

Warwick sees the room the way he left it.

"Yes, yes, yes, Yes! Yes! YES! YES!!" Warwick happily yells, seeing everything still there.

Warwick falls back onto the bed, finally starting to relax as he commands, "Summon Demoko!"

Fumbling to hold the weapons, Demoko drops the knife and sickle the very moment, at least to him, he picked them up.

Demoko reaches down to try again, as he notices where he is.

"Leave them there, it's fine," Warwick states, still laying back.

"It is nice to be back! Crisp air, the cool of mana, is everything in order?" Demoko asks, Warwick sighs once he mentions mana.

"Yeah, just relax. It's all good for a moment."

"Great! I cannot wait to see everyone!" Demoko states, as he happily starts heading to the door

Warwick bounces up, slamming himself into the door just as Demoko gets it open.

Piaras yelling, "No roughhousing!" can be faintly heard from downstairs.

Demoko's ears flick in surprise, "What is wrong master?"

Warwick sucks his teeth before speaking, "Listen buddy. Things didn't exactly work as planned."

"What do you mean?" Demoko asks innocently, his ears slowly lowering through the conversation.

"So... Several towns members memories have been lost... We still need to keep you hidden around them..."

"I see," Demoko exhales in full disappointment, "But everyone else will like me now! Right?" Demoko asks with a bit of perk, but his ears still mostly lowered.

"Right now, we need to play it by ear. I may be able to get Duncan on our side if Trefor still remembers, but for now, we need to play it safe."

"I see. The plan did not work then?" Demoko asks, with any sign of joy shrowded in the shadow of despair.

"I'm really sorry Demoko," Warwick states, reaching out to put his hand on Demoko's shoulder.

Demoko pulls himself away, "I need some time."

Warwick gulps, getting a sense of how bad he messed up, "I understand. You take the bed, I'll Rest on the floor."

Demoko nods, as Warwick puts the sheets, blankets, and pillows back on the bed for him.

"I do not use those. If you want them, you can have them," Demoko states, pointing at the pillows.

Warwick nods and removes the pillows.

Warwick gets his tools off the ground, as Demoko curls up into a ball on the bed.

Upon standing, Warwick looks over at him trying to figure out how that's comfortable.

Warwick makes himself comfortable, pulls out his phone and sets up an alarm on ultra power saving mode for seven hours.

Warwick turns the screen off and begins to Rest, "I messed up..." he whispers to himself before nodding off.

He wakes up to his alarm going off, and as he turns to turn it off he hears a thud behind him.

"What in Cichol's name is that!" Demoko asks, covering his ears.

Warwick quickly turns off the alarm, "Sorry, it was to wake me up."

"Can you just do the command thing instead! I think I have suffered enough pain as it is!" Demoko snaps at him, still in anger from the screeching sound humans can't hear.

Warwick is about to respond, as he hears a pounding on the door.

Quickly, Warwick takes his shirt and pants off and runs to the door, as Demoko ducks behind the bed.

"I'm not dressed. What is it?" Warwick asks through the door.

"Did I not say no roughhousing!?" Piaras angerly asks through the door.

"I'm sorry, I fell off the bed."

"Anyways, hurry up and get out so I can clean."

"I will, and don't worry, I'll clean up."

Piaras loudly sighs, as he can be heard descending down the stairs.

Warwick sighs, as he puts his clothes back on.

"I am so sorry for getting angry master!" Demoko apologizes.

"Don't be. You have a right to be angry. I'm the one that should be sorry," Warwick states, popping his head out of his shirt, "I should never have done that to you."

"You were looking out for my best interests in the long run-" Demoko starts to say in comfort as Warwick cuts in.

"No, I was looking out for my own best interest. Ever since I got you, I never thought about how you felt except to manipulate you. I considered you a tool and never appreciated you for you until recently. I don't really understand guilt, but I believe this is regret I'm feeling. I'm really sorry. Honestly, you should hate me, but you probably won't, because you're an actual good person and their's nothing I can do to make up for what I've done," Warwick explains, as he fixes the bed and puts all of his stuff into the sack of food.

"Why do we not agree to take it from the beginning? Otherwise, we will both keep feeling bad about it," Demoko asks.

Warwick nods and hugs him, crying.

"I do want to confirm that this is a normal hug, and not what the other guy was doing. Correct?" Demoko asks.

Warwick backs off, "Way to ruin the moment!" he says with a chuckle and rubbing his head.

Warwick walks over and picks up the bag, as Demoko states, "That is a serious question!"

"Yes, hugs are usually brief signs of affection. We have to get to Belvast sometime! You ready?" Warwick explains while wiping the tears off with his free hand.

Demoko nods, as Warwick commands, "Return!"

Episode 23: Forget Me Nots

Five minutes before class, Warwick and his roommate get up and begin to get ready.

"Demoko, I'm going to have you disappear a bit to make sure no one finds you. Is that okay?"

Demoko nods.

"Because that totally doesn't sound like a serial killer!" Josh mockingly chuckles.

Warwick looks confused for a second before becoming annoyed, "Shut up! Return!"

Warwick washes off his shoulder, as Demoko disappears, and gets a new shirt on.

"Wait! Summon Demoko!"

Demoko shows back up as Warwick quickly says, "Grab my sickle and knife real quick!"

Demoko takes a moment to find them, and Warwick commands "Return!" the very moment after he picks them up.

Warwick puts his laptop in his bag as they both grab their stuff and run off to class.

They get into class a few minutes early, while the professor from their first class is writing logical fallacies on the board.

"You look better. How is the new game?" The professor asks.

"It's not as easy as I thought it'd be. But I was able to rest and feel a bit better," Warwick explains, as Josh avoids eye contact from the back of the class.

"I'll assume your uniform is still 'resting'."

"I tried playing outside for a bit, and it got torn. Do you know anything about playwriting?"

"Yes actually, I teach a theater history class on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I can talk more about it after class."

"Maybe Monday, I have plans after class," Warwick states as the bell rings.

"Welcome class, I hope everyone presenting today are ready!" The professor announces as the projector screen lowers.

Warwick pulls out his notes and peer critique cards, and gives takes notes as the professor refreshes the class on logical fallacies before presentations continue.

After class, Warwick and Josh head back to the dorm.

On the way back, Warwick pulls up the Mabinogi website to check on the progress of the maintenance.

[Completed] Unscheduled Maintenance

To address the following:
  • Issues with NPC behavior in the Mari Server. NPC positions and AI will be set to those of the Talarch Server. All issues should be resolved.
  • Issues with NPC Intimacy. All intimacy progress for certain NPCs has been reset. As an apology for the inconvenience, anyone who logs in within the event period will get a "Tir Survivor" gift box that can be opened after the event period. The affected NPCs are Duncan, Nora, and Piaras.
-The Mabinogi Team

"NO!" Warwick yells as he runs as fast as he can to his dorm.

Once inside, he slams the door shut and in a flash is where he was when Macha showed up.

"Calm down, whatever they did, freaking out isn't going to help," Warwick states to himself, as he takes a few deep breaths.

Calmer, he speedwalks to the inn, as it's getting dark.

As Warwick gets close, Nora approaches him before he can get a word in.

"You look like you could use a rest. We have rooms for 120 gold a night!" Nora happily greets him, as all hope drains from his face.

"Please tell me you're joking!" Warwick responds, looking like he's about to break down.

"I am so sorry! I can see if my uncle will knock down the price! Everything will be okay!" Nora frantically tries to assure him, not sure why he's so upset.

"You really d-don't remember?" Warwick asks, growing in mortification.

"Did you already pay? I am usually better with faces, though it has been a busy day. Please forgive me," Nora apologizes, as tears start to fall from Warwick's face.

"I am really sorry! If you relax for a moment, we can figure out what is going on together," Nora continues to reassure, not sure what to do or what she did to upset him this much.

Unable to get any words out, Warwick just starts nodding.

"Let me go talk to my uncle. I will see what we can do," Nora states, running inside.

Warwick starts humming the song Nora sang, as Nora stops in her place.

"How do you know that song?" Nora asks, turning back to face Warwick.

Warwick gulps before speaking, "You sang it in the graveyard the second to last time I saw you. We had a talk about how I was surprised the spiders didn't come close. I remember when you taught me how to Rest, it feels so natural now."

Nora covers her mouth in shock, "I never finished that song. I do not remember any of that. I never even sung that song!"

"Someone messed with your memory; someone far more powerful and more mysterious than even the gods. I don't think your memories can be restored. But I hope you'll believe me, and we can get to know each other once again," Warwick states, holding out his hand, and holding back his tears.

She nods before gathering herself, "It is getting late, you might want to get a room if you plan to."

Warwick returns the nod before following her in.

Warwick gulps upon seeing Piaras behind the desk.

Episode 22: Psychoanalysis

Warwick Rests back after Josh leaves.

"Are you okay Demoko?" Warwick asks with a sense of sadness.

"Yes, I feel fine," Demoko happily responds.

"Do- How... Do you remember what happened?"

Demoko diverts his gaze, "I do not know what you mean, master."

Warwick sighs, and pulls out his phone.

Warwick searches, 'how to feel guilty', and begins to read.

"Are you okay master?" Demoko asks.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just trying to figure something out," Warwick informs, his eyes glued to the screen.

Demoko nods his head, then lays down.

Several minutes later, Warwick slams his phone down on the bedside desk.

"Arrh! This makes no sense!" Warwick yells in anger.

"What happened?" Demoko asks, quickly sitting up.

"Trying to figure out something that's not making any sense," Warwick states with a sigh.

"Can I be of assistance?"

"Not really. I just have to-" Warwick starts to say, as Josh walks in.

"Got it," Josh informs, with the bottle of isopropyl in his hand.

Warwick sits up and takes it, pouring it onto the wound.

Demoko jumps up, covering his muzzle while whimpering with his ears down.

"Ahhhhh! Wh-hat-t's Wr-rong!?" Warwick asks, almost screaming from the burning pain.

"The stench!" Demoko answers, muffled by his paws.

"I got it!" Josh declares, rushing over to open the window and give Demoko a cloth to breathe through from a drawer.

Demoko starts breathing through the cloth, his ears softened but still pinned back.

Warwick tries to rub the alcohol in deeper while clenching his teeth in an attempt not to yell.

"Demoko, is there anything else I can help you with?" Josh asks.

Demoko shakes his head 'no', as he continues to breathe through the cloth.

"Demoko... W-would yo-you want me to 'return' you until it dissipates? Because I'm about to apply more." Warwick asks, still clenching his teeth.

Demoko nods.

"Return!" Warwick commands, as Demoko disappears, cloth and all.

"So, how are you able to heal so fast?" Josh asks, seemingly disappointed.

"A Rest skill I learned from Mabinogi," Warwick informs, before putting more alcohol into the wound and screaming through his teeth.

"That's the game you're always playing. So it's real?" Josh asks.

Warwick holds his finger up, shaking from the pain.

Warwick ties the shirt back around the wound, then takes a moment to gather himself.

"Not really. None of the characters are actually real, but it's real from the viewpoint of going in. I think Demoko is real because he's bound to me, but that's not actually certain. I think I hope he's real," Warwick informs, pondering the words he's saying to see if he actually believes them, "I wonder how true that is. As far as I know, if the character's get deleted they're just gone; if their backgrounds are rewritten, they become changed. They are as permanent as Nexon decides them to be."

"That's dark. So, you've talked to them as people but don't see them as real?"

"Part of me always saw them as real. They were always there when life sucked. When it comes to strategy, they ultimately are lines of code."

"That's probably why 'strategy' isn't working there," Josh states with a chuckle.

"What do you mean? Why is this funny?" Warwick asks, confused by the whole statement.

"I assume you're treating everything like it's just a machine. Expecting the NPCs to follow ai algorithms, and for your actions not to change anything in the grand scheme of things. I assume you got banned because the 'game' wasn't functioning properly from a serverside point of view. You likely reacted with one of the emotions that you regularly feel and acted rashly at the last minute when things started to fall apart. Am I close?"

Warwick just stares for a moment.

"How?" Warwick asks, generally concerned by the accuracy.

"I started college trying to get a psych degree and watch a lot of serial killer movies. While you're not exactly like the serial killers, you're close enough. How do you think I was able to get you to open up within a week?"

"Have you just been treating me like a potential serial killer this entire time?" Warwick asks, starting to get angry.

"Would the answer change how you thought? But no, psychology just gives insight. I also don't have the same issues with understanding people that you have, so a few hints can make the difference. If it worked all the time, we wouldn't get into so many arguments,"

"Am I that obvious?" Warwick asks.

"I mean, you're not as easy as Sheldon Cooper, but you're easy enough for anyone that has taken a basic psychology class."

Warwick lays back in disappointment.

"Any suggestions, oh wise psychologist?" Warwick mockingly asks.

"One. Try treating anyone that appears real as if they are real?"

"And what is real?" Warwick continues to mock.

"Psychology, not philosophy. You don't have to listen to my advice, it may not even be accurate. It's just my two cents."

"I think it cleared up enough. Summon Demoko!"

Demoko reappears his ears relaxing as he removes the cloth from his face.

"Can you breathe now, Demoko?" Josh asks.

Demoko nods, placing the cloth on the desk.

Warwick goes back to Resting on his side of the bed, "It's almost better, We have our last class in about 15 minutes,"

Episode 21: Out Of The Closet, And Into Regret

Warwick's roommate walks in and just stares seeing Warwick's wound and the monster behind him.

Warwick quickly gets up, "I will literally give you ten pure gold coins if you keep your mouth shut," he states, pulling ten gold out of his pocket.

Demoko turns, not sure what's about to happen.

"Is that a werewolf?"

"Kind of, yes," Warwick replies cautiously, as Ester sneaks behind him to shut the door.

Demoko sits up, "Please do not be scared. I will not hurt you."

"Can I hug it?" the roommate asks cautiously.

"What?" Warwick and Demoko ask in unison, as Warwick follows up with a "Why?"

The roommate turns, and scratches his head, "For reasons. And, why am I on trial! You're the one who brought a werewolf into the dorms! Honestly, I should report you..." he continues defensively.

Warwick, Demoko, and Ester just look at each other with confusion and concern.

"Okay, first I need to know why? Because this is a weird, unpredictable response," Warwick states.

"I'm a f..." He mumbles in a way that can barely be understood, as his face starts turning red.

"You will have to speak louder if you want me to hear you."

"I'M A FURRY ALL RIGHT! He looks soft and cuddly, and this isn't an opportunity that happens every day! All right!" He blurts out, his face bright red.

"A what?" Warwick asks in confusion.

"I think I've seen them on CSI. They dress in animal costumes and-" Ester start's explaining before the roommate cuts her off.

"NO! Th-that's a mis-portrayal. We're j-just fans of anthropomorphic characters. Like the Disney adaptation of Robin Hood. Our fandom gets a bad rep for what a few of us do. Any group has bad people in it, you can't judge the whole by the few!" He frantically tries to explain.

"Anthronomic-what now? Explain with English." Warwick asks, trying to solve the puzzle.

The roommate pulls out his phone, and shows a picture of a blue raccoon with yellow stripes, and stars on his cheeks, "This is me."

"So, furries are people who think they are blue raccoons? Why?" Warwick asks.

Throughout the conversation, Demoko is just looking back and forth between people trying to understand this seemingly confusing topic.

"So, you find the werewolf attractive?" Ester asks.

"Not like that! I... I kind of see him like you would see a stuffed animal, but a person..."

Warwick looking through his phone, states, "So you want to cuddle anything that is an animal with human characteristics? I don't see the point, but I think I understand the what."

"That pretty much sums it up, yes."

Warwick sees something on his phone and smirks, "So, does your family know?" Warwick asks smugly.

"They can't! They would disown me and stop paying my tuition!" The roommate states quickly, as he looks truly terrified.

Warwick gets a flashback to Demoko's look of pain at the town square, then shakes it off.

"Well, you see. We can't have anyone finding out about Demoko- the werewolf here if you catch my drift."

"I do not catch your 'drift'" Demoko concernedly states.

Warwick sighs, "It's a threat to ensure your safety. Don't worry about it."

The roommate gulps, "You're secret is safe with me. C-can I hug him?"

"Don't ask me, ask him." Warwick states.

The roommate walks up to Demoko, his face looking like it might smear red on anything it touches, "Can I hug you?"

"Yes?" Demoko responds, still concerned and under the influence.

Warwick starts patting himself down, "Ester, did you see an oil lamp around here?"

"You had one when you were at the bottom of the stairs, but it wasn't with you when you found out you were banned."

Warwick looks down, with his eyes a bit glossed over once he hears the word "banned."

"If either of you sees it, get it to me... Don't rub it, and if a lady comes out of it give her no information. Just bring it to me..." Warwick slowly states, having a hard time dealing with the loss.

"I'll let you know if I do," Ester states.

"Are hugs normally this long?" Demoko asks, his ears lowered.

"Okay, Josh, back it off," Warwick states, as the roommate stops and steps back.

"My bad... You know, if you need more room to rest from your wound, he could always split my bed instead..."

"Yeah... I'm not trusting you right now... I'm going to go find that CSI reference," Warwick states, pulling out his phone.

"WAIT! Type in DifFurEntly in youtube instead," Josh blurts out.

"Okay..." Warwick searches them and finds the Easter Fools episode.

About three in a half minutes in, "What the hell am I watching?" Warwick asks in concern.

"I think those are eggs?" Ester asks.

"Yes, we're weird! But this is a better representation than the stupid CSI episode!" Josh informs defensively.

"Is he passing eggs like gall stones? I don't get it. Why is the peep the devil?" Warwick asks.

A couple minutes in later, "Is this entertaining?" Warwick asks.

"Yeah... We're weird, but we're nice!" Josh states, continuing to defend himself.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean!" Warwick yells standing up.

"I didn't mean anything by it! I'm sorry..." Josh informs, stepping back and tripping into a sitting position on his bed.

Ester steps back as well, as Demoko looks away.

"I've never seen you even show a sign of anger before Warwick, what's wrong?" Ester asks.

"Nothing. A mistake in strategy. Possibly regret, I don't know how this stuff works. I'm autistic, these emotion things are hard for me to comprehend," Warwick tries to explain, before getting defensive.

"Sounds like a copout," Josh states.

"What did you say!" Warwick angerly states at Josh.

"It sounds like you did something you regret and have too much pride to admit you messed up. I'm not saying you're not having a hard time recognizing the emotions, but the fact that you think it could be regret suggests you know full and well what you did wrong," Josh states, as Warwick angerly clenches his fists.

Warwick sighs, and sits down, "You're right, I can't fix it, and it may not have even worked..."

"I do not hold it against you master, you did what you thought was right," Demoko informs.

"Aww, he's so cute!" Josh states in response.

"Well, I need to get back to studying. Not all of us have it so easy," Ester states, before carefully leaving the room.

"So, how do you plan to cover up that wound?" Josh asks.

"I have a Rest skill now, I can heal a lot faster by resting."

"Yeah, it looks like it's a few days old. I'd make sure to get some antibiotic on it."

"If I had some, I would," Warwick states with a sigh, "Honestly, I completely forgot about the possibility of infection. Will you go get me a bottle of rubbing alcohol for a gold coin?"

"Sure," Josh answeres. Warwick hands him a gold, and Josh leaves the room.

Episode 20: Data Loss

As Warwick catches his breath, Macha shows up practically forcing the lamp into his hands.

"Get me out of here now!" Macha frantically yells at him.

"What the hell. Can't you see I'm trying to figure out how to feel guilt right now!"

"No time! Something called an emergency server maintenance is going to end the world in five minutes!"

Warwick spends a moment processing, as the shock grows over his face.

"Demoko come here right now! That's an order!" Warwick yells, before looking back at Macha, "Now give me one good reason to take you with me!"

"I'll give you two more worlds, and won't try to kill you. You can pick them at your leisure."

"Deal!"

They shake, as Demoko gets to him, his eyes look glossed out.

Warwick grabs Demoko, as Macha returns into the lamp, and everything flashes white.

Back at the dorm, Demoko comes to.

"What happ-" Demoko starts to ask, as he starts tripping down the stairs before Warwick catches him and they both tumble down.

"Is everything okay? I'm coming to help!" Someone up the stairs yells as steps can be heard coming closer.

Warwick almost prays, whispering: "please work," before yelling "Return!"

Demoko disappears, as the person sees Warwick laying at the bottom of the stairs.

"Here," the girl from class says, offering a hand to lift him up.

Warwick grabs it, almost with the hand holding the lamp before correcting himself, and she pulls him up.

"Thank you, I'm fine now."

"You're not fine, your arm has gashes like claw marks in it. You need medical attention!" She says, grabbing her phone.

He quickly grabs it.

"Please keep this a secret. I could get in big trouble."

"Okay, at least let me help you into your room."

"That's fine."

She walks him up the stairs and notices his sickle and gathering knife.

"We're not allowed weapons. How did you even get those?" She whispers.

"I'll show you once we're in my room. Otherwise, you won't believe it."

She nods, as he rushes to his computer after getting in.

"BANNED!!!" He yells, falling to his knees.

"Is that the game you play?" She asks, before noticing him crying, "Come on now, it's just a game."

His eyes are moving frantically, as he isn't sure what to even do.

"Seriously, come on. You're hurt!"

In anger, he pulls up the gathering knife article on the Mabinogi wiki, then slams the knife onto the desk.

"That's the same knife. While the color is off, it's the exact same knife. Did you go into the game?"

"Bingo, and I was going to get tons of rare items and gold from my character... I've been playing over ten years, and it's all gone. All the event items, all the money and gems, all my pets and partners, it's all gone."

He turns and grabs an old t-shirt.

"Help me tie this tight," He asks her.

Together they are able to close the would and stop the major bleeding.

"I think I'm in deadly status. Can you shut the door, then promise me you won't scream?"

"Why would I scream?" She asks, closing the door.

"Because effectively a werewolf is going to show up in a second. He's a friend, and a bit drugged, and I don't want to risk losing him."

"Well, the day couldn't get crazier, so I guess."

Warwick stands, facing slightly away from the bed, and yells as quietly as he can, "Summon Demoko!"

Demoko shows up, falling onto the bed on his back.

She gasps, before covering her mouth.

"This keeps happening... Master! Are you hurt!"

"Careful. I don't think I can come back if I die right now, and another scratch will probably kill me."

Demoko freezes in worry.

"Is he real?" She asks.

"Yeah, he's a good friend. He must of accidentally scratched me when we fell."

"I am really sorry master."

"It's okay, you've done nothing wrong. If you could roll to one side with your claws facing the wall though, that would be great."

Demoko rolls over, as Warwick lays down and begins to Rest on the bed.

"Are you sure you're going to be okay?"

"Yes, this is actually a very powerful skill to help with natural healing."

She observes as the wound slowly starts to heal.

"That's impressive."

"Thanks. Can I ask a question without you getting mad?"

"Sure, it's hard to make me mad."

"What is your name?"

"What do you mean what is my name! We've been sitting in class next to each other for 13 weeks!" She yells angerly.

"I'm bad with names! Go easy on me! It's not like we've even hung out together!" Warwick yells back.

"I ask you how you are in every class!"

"I have four cousins I grew up with, and only know the names of three fo them."

She stops for a moment.

"It's Ester. Do you want me to write it down?" She asks, in an awkward calmness.

"I can learn a new name in a day if I try, but that would be nice."

The door opens as they're talking.

Episode 19: Karmas All Around

After about a half-hour of waiting, Warwick starts making shooting actions at the ceiling while going "Pew," after every shot.

A few minutes after, the door slams open.

"Get out! Now" Piaras yells, barging in.

Warwick gets up and grabs his knife and sickle.

"I'm done with you Piaras. Go back to your job, or face your death," Warwick threatens, unusually calm, with a hint of nervousness.

"You think I can't take you?" Piaras asks with a chuckle.

"Oh, I know you can, but not before I get a few hits in. Then I'll die, and then I'll attack again. This will be repeated until you die. Now, leave, and go fetch me some paper while you're out." Warwick informs, with a stair that you'd expect from a corpse... Or a college student that just spent the night studying for finals.

Piaras steps back, "You couldn't handle the pain."

"Normally you'd be right. Right now, I don't have a lot of options so I'm kind of cornered," Warwick steps forward, almost dragging himself, "As cliche as this is, I have someone to protect, and stuff to do," Warwick states continuously stepping forward.

Piaras continues moving back, till he almost falls down the stairs.

"Alright! Stay! Just don't forget to pay!" Piaras submittingly states before rushing down the stairs.

"I probably will," Warwick despairingly states, dragging himself back into the room before closing the door.

"You still asleep?" Warwick asks Demoko, who is still asleep on the floor, snuggled into the blankets.

Warwick sighs, "Take your time," as he puts the sickle and knife back onto the table.

About an hour passes by, and there's another knock on the door, just gentler.

"Warwick? Are you in there?" A voice on the other side asks.

"Come in."

Nora walks in and sees the two of them laying on the floor.

"There is a bed right there," Nora informs, pointing to the bed that's been stripped of all accessories.

"Yeah, I couldn't lift him, and it's easier to keep a watch on him like this. Are you feeling better?"

"I am. Although, it looks like we may be moving soon. Piaras is packing up our things."

Warwick gets up and slips the knife and sickle into his belt loops.

"Do not kill him! He is afraid."

"I wasn't going to kill him, I just wanted to let him know you're staying."

"B-but I can not stay. Where would I live?"

"Here. You can send out an owl looking to give something you make for 1,000 gold."

"1,000 GOLD!? That is a ton!" Nora exclaims in surprise, "besides, I am not good at making anything."

"I can show you how to make a few things. Get some paper from Malcolm, and I'll teach you something called origami."

"That sounds interesting, I will see if I have money to buy some."

"You don't need money. Malcolm would give them to you freely. Plus you could always give him some of the profit."

"He never just gives things away, why would I be any different?"

"Because... He's in love with you..." Warwick says with a sigh.

Nora's face turns red, as she looks away.

"B-b-b- H-how- Why would you know even if he did? You've never talked to him."

"Because- Just trust me on this. If you ask, and he gives them to you, you'll know."

Nora gulps, "Fine, I will ask him. When he asks for payment, you have to supply. Got it?" Nora asks, puffed up with embarrassment and a bit of rage.

"Deal-" But before Warwick could finish the word, she was gone.

Warwick goes back to resting and waits.

About an hour later, Demoko starts waking up.

Warwick rushes over to him, "Demoko! Are you okay!?" he asks worriedly.

Demoko sits up, rubbing his head, "Uhh... I think so... My head hurts and my memory is a bit clouded. How did we get back here?"

"Dilys gave you a potion to help with the pain. I brought you back here with the command method I used before. Can I get you some food?"

"I am... am not sure I could keep it down right now," Demoko states, covering his muzzle.

"Can we at least get you onto the bed before you rest more?"

"No, I should be okay," Demoko tries to stand up but keeps stumbling.

Warwick rushes to his side, prepared to catch him if he falls.

"I want to see the town that accepts me now. Can we?" Demoko asks with his ears perked up, still stumbling.

"Of course. Though there is still someone that doesn't approve. But I heard he's leaving soon. Let me help you down the stairs."

"Thank you, master. I am having a bit of trouble walking."

It takes a few minutes for Warwick to help Demoko down the stairs.

Once down, Demoko is able to catch his footing, and they step outside.

They see Piaras dragging Nora by the arm like a parent making their misbehaving child leave.

Warwick quickly runs to them, stabbing Piaras in the back with his knife.

Piaras yells in pain, as he turns around, letting go of Nora and grabbing his knife.

"I suggest you choose your next action very carefully," Warwick warns, as Nora hides behind Demoko.

"He looks drunk, what could he possibly do."

"I don't think he's your only issue," says Ranald approaching from the other way with Malcolm.

Demoko is looking around, clearly having a hard time figuring out what's going on.

"Huh. Looks like this is checkmate Piaras," Warwick states smugly.

"Don't think you're off the hook so easily, Warwick. I'll deal with you after this!" Ranald responds.

Warwick gulps and gives a look like he just died.

Malcolm runs over to Nora and grabs her hands gently, "You're okay? He didn't hurt you, did he?"

Nora blushes, "N-no I am fine. He is my uncle, he's not going to hurt me like that."

"I'm... going to... go get Dilys..." Warwick states slowly, before running off.

Warwick takes a breather at the town square.

"I'm in trouble..." Warwick states to himself between breaths.
