Episode 34: Guns and Roses

Warwick is woken up to a gentle shoulder shake from a clawed hand.

"Uh... What is it?.."

"The thing you do for the Healer's House starts soon."

"Right..."

Warwick slowly starts to get up.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, just tired. I'll meet you at the school."

Demoko runs off towards the school, as Warwick heads to the bank.

"Good morning Bebhinn!"

"Good morning Warwick, how can I help you today?"

"I need a couple Holy Waters from my storage."

"Okay, give me one second."

Bebhinn heads to the back for a minute and comes back with two bottles of Holy Water, which she hands to Warwick.

"Thanks."

"No problem! have a nice day!"

Warwick stops outside the bank and pours one of the bottles over his Zeder II.

He pours the other over the Mining drill before putting it up and starting to head towards the Healer's House.

Warwick Reloads the magazines as he walks through the town square.

He shoots down 8 brown foxes that threateningly approach him, picking up 3 HP 10 potions and 46 gold.

"Huh, still works. These things feel great!" Warwick states, looking at one of the guns, as he walks into the Healers House.

"Hey Warwick, can you give me a hand today?"

"Of course, that's why I'm here."

"Great, then take this potion to Endelyon," Dilys states, handing a potion to Warwick.

"I'm on it."

Warwick heads out and slays 11 brown foxes on his way back to town, picking up 6 HP 10 potions, and 75 gold.

"Hey, Endelyon!" Warwick yells out as he approaches.

"Hey, Warwick. I actually don't need any help right now. Could you stop by later?"

"Of course, I'm actually here to deliver a potion."

"Thank you," Endelyon states, as she accepts the potion from Warwick.

"I'll see you later, have a nice day for now!" Warwick yells as he heads off towards the blacksmith.

"Hey, Ferghus, I broke my knife. Can I buy a new one?" Warwick asks while handing Ferghus the broken knife.

"Will that be all?"

"No, I would also like a Gathering Axe and a Pickaxe."

"That'll cost you 970 gold."

Warwick nods and exchanges the gold with him, then heads to the northern road, near the Healer's House.

Warwick spends 3 hours, killing 92 Brown Foxes, and picks up 13 Brown Fox Fomor Scrolls, 10 HP 10 potions, 182 gold, and a Slender Robe, which he puts on.
#133E69
After the hunt, Warwick turns in his part-time job and gains 600 gold.

"By the way Dilys, could you help me learn how to find herbs sometime?"

"We'll see. Is there anything else you would like to talk about?"

"That's about it, I'll see you tomorrow."

Warwick heads out, and it seems like the foxes haven't had a moment to respawn.

Warwick sighs, "One would think that actually being in the game would prevent emersion breaking..." he mumbles under his breath as he heads to the General Store.

"Hey, Malcolm. I would like to buy Introduction to Music Composition."

"That will be 50,000 gold," Malcolm states, glaring at Warwick angerly.

"That's not the right price... Isn't it more like 500?" Warwick asks with much confusion.

"It is for people who ruin relationships. I know it's your fault Nora lost her memories!"

"It's not like I knew that would happen. Besides, it shouldn't have affected you."

"SHE SAID YES!!! I show up for a date, and she had no idea I liked her! She called me a "creeper"! I have no chance of ever being with her, and it's all your fault!" Malcolm yells at the top of his voice.

"Wow! I didn't know you hated her that much!"

"H-How dare you..." Malcolm mutters beratedly, as if all the anger of a volcano, and shock of a lightning storm, was condensed into three hushed words.

"I mean, you only got a chance because I managed to screw things up so badly that she needed the comforting. The gift of forgetting only costed her connection to you, yet allowed her to continue to live in the town she loves, with an uncle who has no reason to be angry at her. You would throw her life out the window by choice just to date her? I mean, I messed up bad, and that's screwed up compared to me by far! I never meant for anyone to be unhappy," Warwick smugly explains, as Malcolm simply stares back dumbfoundedly.

"Despite my mistake, I can fix things for you."

"How?.." Malcolm angerly mutters.

"Before I say, let's make a wager. If I succeed, you sponsor me by providing my general goods needs to ensure my success at saving the world. If I fail, you get to beat me up to my death in any way you'd like. Sounds fair?"

"I'm going to enjoy this," Malcolm wrathfully chuckles as he shakes Warwick's hand.

"I'll be back in a jiffy!" Warwick states as he heads out, and down the hill towards Nora.

"Hey, Nora!"

"How are you doing Warwick?" Nora happily asks.

"Good, just want to clear up something real quick."

"What is it?"

"I completely forgot to remind you about Malcolm. He was there to comfort you, you two connected, and you two were going to go out."

"Really? That would explain the other day..."

"Yeah... He has had a crush on you for a long time. He blames me for you not remembering anything."

"Isn't it true that all this stuff started when you showed up?"

"Correlation is not causation, and even if I did trigger the chain of events, I didn't want anyone's memory to be erased!" Warwick explains, starting to get defensive.

"Don't worry, I believe you. Will you go with me to talk to Malcolm?"

"Of course," Warwick states, as they both head up the hill.

Episode 33: Frozen Engineers

Warwick shivers and covers his arms with his hands.

"I'm go-going to ta-tag the Ga-gate real qu-quick," Warwick stutters.

"Okay, I'll wait here."

Warwick walks closer to the Mana Tunnel, slowing down more and more as he succumbs to the cold.

"I-i-i'm not go-going to ma-make it... Su-summon Demo-moko!"

Demoko appears, still waking up and now sitting in the snow.

Demoko starts growling at Avelin, before realizing she's not there and Warwick is freezing.

Altam prepares for a potential conflict from his location, as Demoko lifts Warwick up.

"Th-thanks, Demoko. I need to t-tag the Gate, th-then h-head inside."

Demoko nods, and starts carrying Warwick forward before stating, "You know it is a Mana Tunnel, not a Moon Gate."

"Whatever,"

They tag the Mana Tunnel and start heading back as Altam looks more terrified the closer they get to him.

"Altam, you should chill out," Warwick jests in passing, having warmed up somewhat.

"Are you sure that thing is safe?" Altam asks nervously.

"Not after being called 'that thing'!" Demoko snaps back.

"I appreciate that, but don't make yourself seem more threatening," Warwick commends.

"Sorry, I am safe,"

Altam cautiously follows them, a bit more concerned now.

As they approach the entrance to the Hillwen mines, the two armored giants guarding the entrance cross their lances to block the path.

"Are you working for Cichol?" One of the guards asked.

"No, I'm just here with my pet and my patron to learn engineering."

"Is your pet under control?"

"Fully."

The two guards look at each other and nod, then lift their lances for them to walk in.

The trio walk in and see several engineers and researchers, all giants.

There's a minecart rail running through the center of the room towards an elevator managed by a guard and two giants in black trenchcoats.

Warwick approaches one of the engineers.

A shirtless, older-looking, yet extremely muscular giant holding a huge drill with a long shaft that appears more like a lance.

"Hector, the finest engineer of all time. It's a pleasure to meet you," Warwick cheerfully introduces, whilst holding out his hand for a shake.

"Ah, my fame precedes me! Great to meet you too, little one!" Hector states, giving Warwick a painfully firm handshake.

Warwick gathers his footing after the handshake ends.

"I'm wanting to get into engineering, and was hoping to buy some supplies off you and enter the mines."

"I have the money, just let me know how much you need for his goods," Altam informs.

"Ah, so what is it you're looking for?"

"I need a Zeder II, a Mining Drill, two sets of Training Mana Bullets, and an Engineering Bag."

"That will be 25,650 gold."

Altam gulps, then pays Hector in full.

Hector gives the equipment to Warwick, who manages to fit everything into the fanny pack sized bag.

"While I'm here, could you use help with anything?" Warwick asks.

"Yes, though I can only allow each person to help once a month. I'm sure it will help with your training," Hector informs.

"Definitely!" Warwick exclaims.

"Great good luck! If you manage to make 5, I'll exchange them for a reward." Hector states, handing Warwick 50 Hilwen Ore Fragments.

Warwick gains a huge grin as he realizes these are regular Hilwen Ore Fragments.

Using the workbench, Warwick pounds the glowing fragments together on the anvil.

Warwick manages to succeed every time and creates 10 Hillwen.

He puts 5 of them in his Engineering Bag and hands the other five to Hector.

"Great job," Hector states, as he hands him 3,000 gold, 1 Emerald Core, and an Adventurer's Seal.

Warwick's eyes grow wide at the amount of gold.

"Could my wolfman friend give it a try?" Warwick asks.

"Sure. What's your name boy?" Hector asks Demoko.

"My name is Demoko. I was not aware you would give me this chance."

"Of course, here." Hector hands Demoko 10 Hillwen Ore.

Demoko succeeds 8 times, and has 4 ore left over.

He hands hector the 5, and gives the reward to Warwick.

"Altam, here," Warwick prompts, handing Altam the 6,000 gold.

"You don't need to do that."

"It's the least I can do. You made this possible. Also, worst-case scenario, I borrow it from you again."

Altam sighs then accepts the gold.

"Altam, can you take us back to Tir Chonaill?"

Altam nods.

Warwick yells "Return!" as Altam puts one hand on his shoulder, and uses a Waxen Wing to teleport them where they first met Avelin.

"Thanks, for everything. I should be able to make it to Emain Macha if I need to meet with you again."

Altam nods and teleports away with a Waxen Wing.

Warwick heads to the bank and sees it's closed for the night.

"Figures. I should probably get some sleep."

Warwick heads back behind the Grocery Store, summons Demoko, and the two rest for the night.

Episode 32: Knightly Debate

While waiting, Warwick pulls out his knife.

Upon inspection, he notices the blade is cracked throughout.

"Of course, I should have expected the durability to be nill."

He waits a bit longer, as Avelin teleports back in.

"Hey! So what-" Warwick starts to ask, as Avelin grabs him by the collar and presses him against the wall.

"Tell me what you know! RIGHT NOW!"

"Did something go wrong?"

"That's not an answer!" She yells, pushing him against the wall with more and more force.

"I- can- n't- breathe!"

"Avelin!" Talvish yells, seeming to have appeared with Altam whilst neither was looking.

Avelin drops Warwick, who starts gasping for breath while holding his throat.

"He's been right. Shouldn't we trust him?" Altam asks.

"He knows more then he should. It's like he's lived through everything, and is trying to figure out when he showed up. Yet, he doesn't seem prepared for what he did."

"I'm not. I'm years behind where I should be. And I'm hundreds of thousands of gold short of what I need to pull this off. I need help to save this world I love. Will you help?"

"Will you tell us what's going on?" Avelin asks.

"I have read a fantasy story about a wizard that finds a spell to go back in time and destroyed the future. Is it something like that? Also, what do you need right now?" Altam inquires.

"He said 27 thousand gold and transportation to the Hillwen mines. He's also not a member of the Alban Knights, in case you need reminding," Talvish informs.

"I have that. I can get him there," Altam suggests.

Warwick smiles at him, "Thank you Altam, I knew I could count on you."

"This is insane! How do you even have that much?" Avelin asks, obviously annoyed by this situation.

"I've been saving up for a long time, though I don't have much more than that."

Warwick avoids eye contact upon hearing that.

"You feel bad about taking advantage of his generosity?" Talvish asks.

Altam starts to abject to that, as Talvish holds up his hand.

"I do, though I'm also considering the fact that he is among the ones that die if I fail."

Altam gumps at hearing that.

"So, how do you plan to protect yourself? It's dangerous out there, and you can't defend yourself," Avelin inquires.

"Demoko, my pet wolfman. He's strong, and he's starting to grasp magic."

Altam and Talvish just stare at him, mouths agape.

"I can summon him, he's really nice!" Warwick sheepishly states, trying to ease the conversation forward.

Talvish looks at Avelin, who's glaring at Warwick, then states, "So, I thought I was good at taking jokes, but this one isn't sitting well."

"It's not a joke. He's likely the one to make the difference between me saving people, and me just coming back thanks to the Soul Stream, surrounded by the bodies of my comrades. He's also part of the deal."

"What deal!" Avelin yells.

"The whole convince me to save the world thing. We've been talking about it all night."

"I would choose my words wisely if I was you," Talvish hints.

"Yeah, I'm exhausted of having to always watch what I say. I've already proven myself, and I'm getting fed up with a false leverage you're trying to push on me. If I die, I still live. If you all die, y'all stay dead. Sure, I won't even try to hurt you, but if you don't help me, I'm the only one that survives. Those are the facts. Now, we've already worked out a plan, and you have the means to help me. The hopes of the world rest in this decision from you, for I will fail to save everyone on my own if I try my best. What is your decision?" Warwick lays down the law, dropping all pretense of playing nice.

Everyone just stares at him in shock.

Altam gulps before hesitantly speaking, "I'll still help. I don't think we have a lot of options."

"Wherever you're getting your information, someone saved everyone. How do you know it's you?" Talvish asks, trying to move the conversation forward.

"Because the person reading the information IS the one who has to save everyone. The d- My sources would have me be far stronger when I got to this point. I'm honestly not sure I can pull this off."

"If Avelin agrees, Pihne already believes you to be worthy, and I agree, that'll be enough for you to become an Alban Knight. It's up to you Avelin," Talvish informs.

"I don't trust him."

"He's proven he's telling the truth. I don't trust him either, but we can't let our judgments bring the world's destruction." Talvish conveys.

"I'm right here!" Warwick yells.

"You'll get used to the higher-ups talking about you while you're around," Altam comforts.

"Fine. But if he slips up, I'll serve him his punishment myself," Avelin agrees, but in such a way to send shivers down everyone's spine.

"Then let's get on this. I'm ready when you are Altam,"

"You have the clear to go," Avelin informs.

Altam nods his head, grabs Warwick's shoulder, pulls out a Waxen Wing, and they teleport.

They arrive in a field of snow.

A stone structure to the south, and a cave with two giant guards in front to the north.

Wild dingos can be seen on the west, but they seem to be a safe distance away.

Episode 31: Introduction to The Alban Knights

The two wake up to hear the marching of a knight.

Warwick gets up quickly, as she turns to him.

"Get back, there's a fomor besides you!"

"Calm down Avelin of the Alban Knights, he's with me. Return!"

Her eyes grow wide, then angry, as Demoko disappears.

"Are you with them?" She asks, readying her sword.

"No, they barely gave me the time of day. Not even Pennar showed up, just a prophet."

"How do you know so much?"

"Well, I can confirm I hadn't made it to the meetup point in the alleyways of Emain Macha yet. I have access to, unique sources of information thanks to the Soul Stream. That's how I know about you and or organization," Warwick smugly informs.

In a flash, she draws her sword and presses it against his throat.

"Won't help. I'd just come back to life through the Soul Stream."

Avelin is getting visually angrier, as she glairs at Warwick.

"What do you want?!"

"I want to join," Warwick smiles back.

"What!?" She says with surprise, taking a step back.

"It wouldn't be the first time a milletian joined, plus I am good at keeping secrets. Even if I'm not, I know too much to risk leaving alone."

"I need to talk it over with my superiors. In exchange, you can't tell anyone!"

"My patience is vast but limited. I'll agree to the span of 2 years. After that, I'll reevaluate my plans with the assumption that you've forgotten or they brushed it aside. As we both know, you would leave me hanging rather than tell me I can't join."

She sighs, "We might be able to use you well. Especially with your witt and informants."

"Thanks, I hope to be of service. Let Altam know I'm excited to meet him. One more thing, Do you know Logan?"

"I do not. Is he of importance?" She asks with confusion.

"Not at this time. Looks like I know some future events."

"You're coming with me," She claims, grabbing Warwick by the arm.

Avelin pulls out a Waxen Wing of The Goddess, and in a moment both are transported into a room that looks like the inside of a castle.

A man in ornate heavy armor walks towards the two.

Warwick starts laughing, "I didn't realize how bad of a lie 'meeting your superiors' actually was!"

"She said I was her superior, did she? I didn't know you cared," He sarcastically remarks.

"You know better," She states with a stern look at the man.

"Don't worry Talvish, I can take a joke," Warwick comforts.

"You seriously told him my name? And you call me unprofessional."

Avelin just continues to glair coldly at Talvish.

"She didn't tell me anything. That's why I'm here. I know too much, can't be killed permanently, and want to join."

"Ah, a milletian we've overlooked. So what do you know?" Talvish asks, with an overwhelming sense of calmness and control.

"The Alban Knights is a secret order founded by Aton... Cinimy?... Anyways, Aton's will. You seek to keep the world right and stop outsiders that would negatively interfere, while not interfering as a group yourselves. You are divine warriors, and the two that stand before me are two of the four groups. Your current goal is to stop the Prophets, a group of Fomors who follow a power from another world, and their Apostles, monsters made from the Tuatha de Danann that accepts power from that world. Like when Pihne accepted some when she was little, which killed her parents, and became an Apostle before being saved by the Alban Knights and the Milletian," Warwick explains, confident in his answer.

"One, Aton Cimeni's Will. Two, we can't interfere at all. Three, nothing like that has ever happened to Pihne," Talvish corrects, getting concerned at the end.

Avelin pulls out a Waxen Wing of The Goddess, and in a moment is gone.

"This is meta. Looks like I knew something else that hadn't happened yet. Talvish, did Altam break an oath which caused a Milletian to join the Alban Knights?"

"You're the closest a Milletian has ever came to joining th Alban Knights."

"I Get To Save Everyone!!" Warwick exclaims with glee, until it hits him, "I have to save everyone... I can't get strong enough, fast enough, to do this..."

"What do you know?"

"A lot. So, has any Milletian became a Demigod?"

"Heh. That's not possible," Talvish chuckles, as it sinks in that Warwick is serious.

"Good, I have time. How's Fallon?"

"I'm not sure who that is..."

"Don't worry about it, What's the state on Ruairi?"

"He's a black knight that disappeared on a ferry a while back."

"Then we should be somewhere in G9 or G10. Do you have a budget?"

"That's blunt. What's G9 and G10?"

"Points in history. Do you want to help me help the Alban Knights save the world, or let the world perish by the Apostles' and Prophets' hands?"

"Save the world, but-" Talvish states as Warwick cuts him off.

"Then I need your help. Also, has Shakespear been seen lately?"

"That's the first Milletian which was bound by the Gods to Avon, right?"

"Good, then we're definitely before, or in G13. What about the Goddess of Light?"

"I feel like I'm in a time traveler book. Neamhain? She's been unaccessible."

"G9 it is, hopefully at the start. First I need to go to the Hillwen Mine, and need about 27 thousand gold."

"THAT'S INSANE! You can't expect us to give that kind of money to someone we've just met!" Talvish yells, in shock at the absurdity of the request.

"Which is why I'll need your help. If I'm to help, I need to be at my best. Time is short, and in a few months I barely have a grand."

Talvish is about to dispute, as a non-threatening man with tossed hair teleports in.

"Altam, it's good to meet-" Warwick starts saying, as Altam blows by.

"How much have you told this guy? Anyways, there's no time. All hands are needed for a cleansing ritual!" Altam informs Talvish with worry.

They both teleport off using Waxen Wings of The Goddess before Warwick can get a word in.

"Nothing? This sucks..." Warwick states to himself, now standing in the room alone, realizing how vast and polished this one room is.

He Rests on the ground, "I guess I have to wait for someone to come back then..."

Episode 30: Learning Like A Wolf

"Demoko, use Counter!" Warwick yells as he charges at Demoko with the knife, as Demoko gets into a defensive stance.

Warwick attempts to stab the knife into him, but Demoko easily swipes away the strike and guts Warwick with his claws.

Warwick revives where he is and tries to get back up, the wound in his chest still causing immense pain.

"Ow..." Warwick states, falling back onto the ground, "I forgot about pain..."

"Master, I am sorry! You said-" Demoko starts to frantically state as Lassar interrupts with a "Step aside."

Lassar quickly heals Warwick and tosses a potion to him.

Warwick stands up after drinking it.

"I hope you don't plan on continuing to die."

"No Lassar, I just needed to witness a Counterattack first hand."

"I am sorry master."

"Don't worry about it Demoko, but I'm going to need you to come at me with as much restraint as possible."

Demoko nods, as Warwick gets into a defensive stance.

Demoko, with one claw, pokes at Warwick.

Warwick deflects the attack, causing the claw to stab into his shoulder, as he Counterattacks the blade slides off Demoko's fur as Warwick falls forward... Onto his face...

Ranald breaks out laughing, as Demoko rushes over to help Warwick up.

Lassar heals Warwick's wound.

"I take it back, this is totally worth the potions!" Lassar laughs.

"You know what's funnier? That was a successful attempt!" Ranald informs laughing.

Lassar buckles over from laughter.

"Haha, yeah, laugh at weak little Warwick. At least I'm trying!" Warwick angerly resputes.

"It's not your fault. No doubt you've gotten stronger already," Ranald informs between laughter.

Warwick takes a deep breath and turns back towards Demoko.

"Demoko, are you up for some more?" Warwick asks.

"I do not want to hurt you again..."

"That's fine. Will you use defense, and let me attack you?"

Demoko nods, as the two step back from each other.

Demoko gets into a defensive stance, as Warwick charges at him with the knife, which Demoko easily deflects.

This goes on for about an hour until Warwick backs off.

"Thanks, Demoko, I don't think I can learn any more training like this right now."

Demoko smiles back at him, "I am glad I can help."

"It would probably help more if you fought something that could seriously fight back. Try killing some foxes up the road," Ranald instructs.

"I think first me and Demoko should get some food! How does that sound?"

Demoko nods, as he follows Warwick to the bank.

"Hey Bebhinn, how ya doin'?" Warwick asks as they enter the bank.

"Hey Warwick, how- iyia! I didn't expect you to bring... that into... here... Is... it... as safe as Lassar says?"

"Yeah. We're just here for a few chunks of meat and a couple loaves of bread."

"Was not that public torture supposed to get people to like me? Why do people still think I am just a monster!?" Demoko shouts out, as he starts to cry.

Warwick's eyes go wide, as Demoko falls to his knees.

"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to upset you... um... fomor guy... Is there something that can cheer you up?"

"No, I was just hoping master could get us some Potato & Egg Salad, and some Roasted Bacon, but it turns out we do not have enough, on top of everyone treating me like a monster!.." Demoko states between tears.

"I'm sorry, one day we can get those things. For now, we still have plenty of ambiguous meat and stale bread. I can even try to get some wool for us to sleep on to soften the stone! It's not all bad!" Warwick comforts, as he figures out what Demoko's doing.

"Here," Bebhinn says, handing Warwick a banknote, "Give this to Caitin, tell her it's on me."

"I can't accept that, you're already doing so much for me!" Warwick states as Demoko starts wiping away his tears.

"Nonsense, it's the least I can do!" Bebhinn insists, as she practically forces the note into Warwick's hand.

"Really! Thank you so much lady!" Demoko happily says, as he stands up, the fur around his eyes still wet from his tears.

"I'm sorry for all the trouble I've caused. Thank you for doing all this for us!" Warwick thanks her.

"It's no problem, really. I'm glad to help!" Bebhinn happily smiles back.

Warwick nods back, as they both leave the bank.

"You're a freaking genius!" Warwick yells, hugging Demoko.

"I have learned it from you, master."

"And you've learned well. Let's go get the best meal of either of our lives! You wait around back and I'll go get the food!"

Warwick walks into the grocer.

"Hello Caitin, Bebhinn gave me this voucher for some food," Warwick states, handing Caitin the banknote.

"Wow! I'll get that for you then," Caitin states, as she turns to her stove.

The smell of sizzling bacon and steamed potatoes starts to fill the room before long.

A few minutes goes by, as Caitin finishes the meals.

"Thank you so much!" Warwick states as he piles the plates of food into his arms.

"Anytime, I hope you enjoy!"

"We will!"

Warwick steps out and lays the food out in front of him and Demoko.

Demoko gulps at the sight.

"Let us eat!" They say in unison, as they begin to chow down.

The juicy bacon with just enough crisp to crack against the teeth, the creamy egg and potatoes melting into the mouth with every scoop.

After eating, they both Rest back into the grass.

"I think I died, this is so good!" Demoko comments.

"Don't say that. That's something that can actually happen! Though it feels like it has nevertheless."

They both relax in the grass, as one after another, they close their eyes just long enough to doze off.

Episode 29: Foundation For Learning

The lecture goes on for about an hour, and while Warwick is starting to understand the concepts, only Demoko is actually able to implement them.

"Thank you very much Lassar," Warwick states with a nod.

"I'm still not sure what good it's going to do. Being able to improve at using mana at a higher rate is rather useless when you don't have any mana to use."

"I'll find a way. In fact, I think I already have, it's just a matter of getting to it."

"Ohh. What's the method?" Lassar asks with excitement.

"Duel guns. They don't require mana to start using but should help me get some mana. Once-"

"-You have something, you'll be able to grow with actual magic. I expect a full report!" Lassar finishes with a wink.

"I'll do what I can. Until then, I'll probably spend quite a time in this lovely little town. I need to get strong enough to ensure my own survival, and train in the things I can for the time being."

"That's a smart goal. I assume your next stop is Endelyon?"

"You know it! Demoko, if you want, you can stay here. It should be safer."

Demoko nods, "I agree. I can always study up or train with Ranald."

"Sounds like a plan. I'll see you two later!" Warwick states as he runs out, and travels the backway to the church.

"Hello, Endelyon! How's everything going today?"

"Tiring actually. I could use help getting some barley if you have a minute."

"I'm on it! I was hoping to help you out today anyways," Warwick states with a smile.

"You're so sweet, thank you so much!"

"No problem! I'll be on my way then, be back soon!"

Warwick heads to the farmland, collects 10 Barley without much issue, and brings them back to Endelyon.

"Thank you so much for helping me out! I got these for you. I hope they help!" Endelyon states, handing Warwick 4 Holy Waters.

"It's a pleasure. Thank you so much for these!" Warwick responds, taking them, and putting them into his pockets.

"If you want, can you come by tomorrow? I can always use the help!" Endelyon states with a smile.

"I plan on it. I'll catch you then!" Warwick replies with a smile, as he starts walking towards the bank.

Once Warwick walks in, he notices Bebhinn isn't at the desk.

Upon closer inspection, she can be heard searching for something in the back.

"Is everything okay?" Warwick yells back.

"Yeah, I'll-" She starts to yell back as a loud THUD is heard.

"Ow... I'll be there in a minute!"

Less than a minute later, Bebhinn comes up to the desk.

"Hello Warwick, how can I help you?"

"What are you doing back there?" Warwick asks with confusion.

"Trying to find that lamp. I never lost anything before, and it's weird that it has just disappeared."

"All has been forgiven with the lamp. I have some holy waters I wish to store," Warwick states, as he pulls the Holy Waters out and puts them onto the desk.

"I'll get these stored right away for you!" Bebhinn informs with a nod, as she takes them back.

Warwick nods back and heads out.

He makes it back to the school and walks into the magic class.

"Hey, Demoko. Do you have a minute to help me spar?"

Demoko frantically nods his head "no."

"C'mon. What's the worst that could happen?"

"I could kill you... I do not want that!"

"I can take a few deaths. You forget, here I'm a milletian."

"Right... I guess it is fine then..." Demoko states, getting up from a chair.

"Don't worry too much. If I don't get better while I have a safety net, I won't be ready when that net's gone," Warwick states with a smile.

"If you say so..."

The two head outside, as Ranald gives them a look.

"What are you two up to?"

"Demoko's going to help me work on my melee combat!"

"I could teach you. That is my job as a combat teacher."

Warwick stairs back in a terrified gaze.

"I guess I deserve that. I'll just stand here on the sidelines in case something goes wrong."

Lassar comes out with more food.

"Where do you keep getting this food from?" Warwick asks.

"Are you calling me fat!" Lassar yells, with a firebolt in her hand.

"No!-No! You look really slender. I'm ju-"

"So you think I'm just a bag of bones then!" She yells more.

Warwick runs behind Demoko.

"He should have max Mana Deflector!"

Lassar and Ranald break out into laughter.

"You should get a look at your face!" Ranald laughs.

Warwick huffs, "It's not funny."

"Yes, it is," Lassar retorts through her laughter.

"You really need some chill!" Ranald yells out through his laughter.

Warwick turns away.

"Now master. You should not hand them a frozen shoulder," Demoko says, trying to be funny.

"And... It's dead," Lassar declares, as the laughter stops.

"Thank you Demoko," Warwick credits with a smile.

Demoko looks back and forth between Lassar and Warwick, trying to figure out what part he said wrong.

"Don't worry about it. Let's just get started," Warwick states, drawing his Gathering Knife.

Episode 21.1: Ester And The Lamp

Ester walks out of the room and heads up the stairs to her dorm room.

"This is the weirdest day of my life!" She says walking into her dorm room.

She sits down at her desk before jumping back up from the pain.

"Ow! What the?" She yells as she looks at the shaking lamp on her chair.

She heads to the door, as the Djinn materializes from a trail of smoke in front of her.

"Why so fast master! There's no need to fear your humble servant," The Djinn explains, blocking the door.

"We have to get you back to your master," Esper states, staring her down.

"I don't understand. You're my master. Do you not want me?" The Djinn asks, looking like she's about to cry.

"It's not that! I'm just trying to do the right thing!" Esper defensively states, a bit taken by the Djinn's sudden upset.

"My brother was right, I am worthless as a Djinn!.." She falls on her knees to the floor, crying.

"You're not worthless! Warwick sees great value in you, we just need to get you back to him!"

The Djinn's eyes go wide upon hearing Warwick's name.

"No! Not him! I don't want him to do that to me again!" The Djinn cries out as she starts bawling.

"What did he do to you!" Esper asks, both concerned and with growing anger at Warwick while sitting next to her to help her talk it out.

"Please... Don't make me talk... about it... Especially after watching what he did to his wolf!" She states, her tears almost making her incomprehensible.

"W-what did he do to Demoko?" Esper cautiously asks.

The Djinn gulps before explaining.

'In the world, we were in... He had Demoko tortured in front of the whole town... He told Demoko that this is what was needed to get everyone to like him... And then... He just watched..."

"What The HELL IS WRONG WITH HIM!!!" Esper yells, full of rage, "I'm going to let him have it!"

"Wait! He's gained power from that world! And he has a control curse on Demoko to make him perfectly obedient!" The Djinn cautions.

"Then, what would you suggest?" Esper asks.

The Djinn momentarily has a smile under her tear-soaked face.

"I can help! I can give you the same thing I gave him. And you can pick power to make him pay for what he did to us, and the manipulation he did to you!" The Djinn passionately informs.

"So, I do what he did?"

"NO!" The Djinn quickly yells before catching herself, "You have to find a faster path. He picked a world where it would be difficult for you to get magic. You need one that makes it easy! Do you need any information?"

Esper, too angry to be concerned with that last line, answers, "No. When I was little I would play Wizard 101. It's a game that if I start in Wizard City I can safely and successfully get magic within a few minutes."

"You'll need two more worlds. They can be anything, mythology, fantasy, you name it."

"Let's go with, Harry Potter, but about five years before he came to the school. Hmm... Twilight. I know they weren't the best reads, but becoming an immortal without the typical drawbacks would be the best choice."

"It is so. Now just hide the lamp somewhere safe in this world, and you can go into your first just by willing it. And, thank you. No one ever showed such caring to me."

"It sounds like you've hung with the wrong people. There are good people in this world, you just have to find them!" Esper says, happy that she's cheered up.

"I'll take my leave now ma-f-friend."

"I'm your friend. Don't worry. I'll have everything taken care of," Esper states as she picks up the lamp.

The Djinn vanishes as Esper slides the lamp under the bed, behind the drawers.

"Now we take care of this. Do I-" She starts saying to herself, as everything fades to white.

She comes to in front of Merle Ambrose, "need to..."

"So good you were able to make it! We were worried you weren't able to get through," Ambrose states as if expecting her.

"I'm as glad as you. Do you mind if I skip the test and just pick my school? I'm really excited to get into this!" She states.

"Are you sure? The Professor showed huge consequences from skipping the test on a trip through his telegraph box."

Esper facepalms.

"I forgot that was in here," She mumbles to herself before answering, "Yes, I am quite sure. I would like to join the Life School."

"That's a pleasant choice. You ready to get started?"

"Yes. Thank you so much for this opportunity!

"Follow me to get started," Ambrose states, as he walks onto the same portal Esper showed up on.

Esper quickly follows.
